Imagine having Speed Limits But nah seriously, Am i the only one who is happy to hear they put a V6 in this instead of the V8? I never really liked the Sound of any McLaren V8. V6s can sound much better than V8s if the Manufacturers do it right. Best Example is the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, that Car is a V6 and sounds much better than any V8 in my Opinion. Honestly, it's kinda a good idea to have the electric motor do the reversing. That's significant weight savings and less frictional losses to not have a reverse gear.

@@jamesmedina2062 Not sure about reverse, but in a lot of transmissions, gears are still meshed. There's frictional losses from that too, not just ball bearings. I have had my Artura since mid Feb and I can tell you that Doug is right on the mark.....its a stunning car! It's my first McLaren after owning 4 911's. I can tell you that it's on another stratosphere obviously given the price point. It's easy to drive in traffic to downtown Toronto, easy to push it on B roads, and easy to sneak out quietly without waking the neighbours. It's perfect for my needs. Anyone thinks this is not loud should come for a ride with me. In track mode when you gun it, around 6k rpm it screams. Maybe it's the Sports Exhaust but its definitely not quiet. When accelerating, you better hang on and pay attention to what's on the horizon because in a split second you pass it. I am still getting used to it. I cant wait till the summer tires are put on. I can't imagine the acceleration and handling with that chang given what it does with winters on. Excellent review Doug!

Yes, except he got the numbers wrong. It does not do 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds and it is definitely not faster than a 296, not even close. This car is slightly slower than a 720S and the 296 is almost as fast as a 765 LT. And this info is coming from a McLaren owner.

I’m very interested in the 2024 model. What I’m not interested in is reliability issues. I want to drive the car and not have Ferrari oil on my garage floor. I spoke to a McLaren dealer in CA a few months ago and the arrogance was so thick I left. I suppose my flip flops,shorts and tee shirt wasn’t uppity enough. I definitely want to hear from actual people who own this model not dealers or paid advertisers.

@@Captain-ln3vh Ok so its been 15 months and over 7k miles (11.4k km) since I first picked up the car. I had a few SW and HW issues that were quickly fixed by the dealership in Toronto. They have been fantastic to deal with along with McLaren NS and HQ. Just a lot of support and Positivity. Its too bad you did not experience that in the CA dealership. Ok, so what is it like to own the Artura? Its been an amazing experience.....its like it was custom built for me and my needs. I am not the kind of person that keeps the car in storage and barely drives it....I take it out pretty much daily across all seasons. Its been amazing! Would the backup door pull roll down the window somehow, or is it just a given that if you run down the battery with the windows up, you'd need to break one window to get out?
@unloveableandre
@unloveableandre Жыл бұрын
Should be simple like that, right? If battery is 1%, roll down the window a little. But, in other hand, you would just need a dead battery to open the door of a locked car. Again, different scenarios but ML should have put safety over anything else and just do the right thing, dead battery or sudden shut off, roll down the window x amount.

@@Kelle128 The gentleman who owned the 675 had multiple engine issues with the car. I’m terms of build quality the Artura was substantially nicer in terms of interior. Panel gaps, overall fit and finish were very tight and crisp. Can’t speak to the reliability because I was only out on a demo day. The car was being driven hard throughout the day by potential buyers and didn’t skip a beat so I guess that’s something. After getting out of the artura it felt all of what they’re asking for it.
