+Erik Brandhorst I was feeling completely worthless a few minutes ago, then I opened youtube to see if there were videos from a channel that I watch daily, there weren't any, then I saw this video on the home page, I couldn't believe my eyes I was seeing there a thumbnail of a motivational video about Jim Carrey, my favorite actor, I opened it, watched it and felt a little better. Just saw your comment, it made me cry real hard, silently, cause I know what it is to give it your best and still not be enough, what it feels to be worthless, I know what it is to put people up every time, even when you're just using a mask, to hide your sadness just because you know how bad it is to be alone among 1 thousand people, but still, you want to see people happy, laughing, make them feel good............ I'll be 27 this year, I would love to be a comedian, KZfaq comedian, one day a movie actor like Jim Carrey, but I live in Brazil, things are real bad, I'm losing all perspectives of life, as even food is getting expensive.

I watched the affect my father’s love and humor had on the world around me, and I thought, “That’s something to do, that’s something worth my time.”When I was about 28, after a decade as a professional comedian, I realized one night in LA that the purpose of my life had always been to free people from concern, like my dad.I did something that makes people present their best selves to me wherever I go.How will you serve the world? What do they need that your talent can provide? That’s all you have to figure out. I can tell you from experience, the effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is. Because ultimately, we’re not the avatars we create. We’re not the pictures on the film stock. We are the light that shines through it. All else is just smoke and mirrors. Distracting, but not truly compelling.that peace that we’re after, lies somewhere beyond personality, beyond the perception of others, beyond invention and disguise, even beyond effort itself. You can join the game, fight the wars, play with form all you want, but to find real peace, you have to let the armor fall. Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world. Don’t let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form. Risk being seen in all of your glory. I’ve often said that I wished people could realize all their dreams of wealth and fame so they could see that it’s not where you’ll find your sense of completion. Like many of you, I was concerned about going out in the world and doing something bigger than myself, until someone smarter than myself made me realize that there is nothing bigger than myself! Our eyes are not only viewers, but also projectors that are running a second story over the picture we see in front of us all the time. Fear is writing that script and the working title is, ‘I’ll never be enough.’I’m just making a conscious choice to perceive challenges as something beneficial so that I can deal with them in the most productive way. You’ll come up with your own style, that’s part of the fun!life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you.you will only ever have two choices: love or fear. Choose love, and don’t ever let fear turn you against your playful heart.all that will be left of you is what was in your heart. My soul is not contained within the limits of my body. My body is contained within the limitlessness of my soul.you can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love. relax and dream up a good life! You can spend your whole life imagining ghosts, worrying about your pathway to the future, but all there will ever be is what’s happening here, and the decisions we make in this moment, which are based in either love or fear.So many of us choose our path out of fear disguised as practicality. What we really want seems impossibly out of reach and ridiculous to expect, so we never dare to ask the universe for it. I’m saying, I’m the proof that you can ask the universe for it.- Jim Carrey

I'm really sorry to hear that, I'm aware of how much pain you had known, it must been really hard for you to go through all of that. But love is inside all of us, "God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (genesis 1:26)" and "God is love (1 John 4:8)" We've been made by the love of God and for the love of God. Don't lose hope Don't stop praying for your father "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)"

I want to give a little perspective to people who are skeptical of this video. There are many people that comment saying this is BS or just some new age nonsense. I can respect your perspective and how subjectively you have come to that conclusion. But here are the facts, I was 19 years old when I did this edit, I was editing for fun and Absolute was in its early stages with not that much of a following. I watched the commencement speech and I was incredibly inspired by it. So by using the power of editing I wanted to create something that would help bring out the emotion even more. I have no intention to sell an ideology or to make you believe something. This is just an edit I did nearly 1 and a half ago for fun. If you take good from it, great, if you don't please leave constructive feedback as to how I can improve in the future. While the majority is positive, I just wanted to address the very few that have issues with the edit. Thanks - nav

"Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world" That quote applies to anyone trying to find out who they are. As for me it really showed how i want to be a motivational speaker. Not only so but one that can save people from becoming something their not. Even if the person is to deep in their mind i would still get them to a different state of mind. I know this is a step you wouldn't expect someone who barely turned 16 to do so, but i'm going to and i believe anyone who has the mind or heart to do so can do it to.

Society did so much that humanity has almost vanished. It brought so much materialism that people forgot why they came to existence, to be happy, to love, and foremost to help those in need. For me, there's no poor, no middle class, and no rich. Those are just the invisible barriers that became visible over time. It took me a decade to find what I want to do with life, and yes, at times I did felt hopeless thinking whether my decision and perspective, are they even real? Or just an imagination that will never work in this world now? And then it clicked, the world is what and how we make it. I can't change it overnight, just one day at a time and with people like Absolute Motivation and all the commentators, I think we will get to it.

it seems like nobody understands what Jim Carrey is saying. There was a period of my life when I was meditating up to 4-5 hours a day for a few months. I learned in those months more than I've learnt my entire life. Jim Carrey is talking about our ego, the voice inside your head who is always judging, praising, comparing, analyzing, etc. Whats' wrong with that? well, the ego is not reality, reality has no words. When you eat food, you eat and then you are done. When someone hurts you, you feel pain and then it'd done. Most people are living an illusion, an illusion based on the ego's perception of the world. Jim realized that he though ( the ego) that by becoming SOMEONE, an actor, he would be happy. But as soon as he go there, he realized that happiness doesn't come from those desires to be better or to acquire fame or popularity, happiness comes from love. As long as you are driven by your ego, even if you do the right thing, it cannot be true love b.c it only comes from a perception that is flawed, it comes from fear. "I must love my gf b.c I don't want her to leave me b.c I'm gonna feel alone." Of course, most people don't ever say that to themselves, but if you look deeply within yourself, you will see that most of our love comes from self interest. "I love my best friend b.c he loves me back" Ego driven love is temporary, b.c as soon as your friend stops loving you or he betrays you, you stop loving him. True love comes from within and it's not influenced by our ego. It's pure. And this is all that matters and this is what you should always choose. Most of the world don't choose this, they choose to act out of fear and selfishness. Most of us are not even aware of why we do what we do 99% of the time. We think we are in control of our actions, we are so oblivious to the power of our natural instincts, most of which are not necessary anymore, or at least not to the great extent to which they still control us.

You have constructed a wall, yes my friend, i can give you the USD 1.000.000 and then you will be in the top of the most fantastic building and then you Will feel that something is missing, empty inside you have lived and ilussion. Ask yourself if the things you say and think have been chosen for you or someone put it there. Ask your self if it make sense to work 24/7 to then Rech some money to then be happy. Break the wall and finde yourself cause if you are reading This is not a coincidence.

ask your self why does it scares you .. as said in video and it is known life fact for ages that fear is opposite of love .. fear lead to living in fear and paranoia .. don't be afraid to confront it .. fear is natural respons .. it is normal to feel fear .. but fear won't bring happiness .. it wont make productive life and for sure it wont make life hope you understand what I'm trying to say .. I'll try practical perspective .. you don't make love with fear in your heart .. make love .. love is made .. you can produce it . as much as fear .. choice is yours .. don't forget to love your self in a process .. learn way of love ... now I don't say ignore fear .. only don't led fear guide your life and choices in it ;) ask any kid .. before brainwash .. it's natural instinct and good feeling, ask question, test answers .. experiment .. be honest to yourself and fulfill your potentials 8-) you only live once! respect!

I Love You Jim! You for-filled you purpose to so many. I agree that God is with us and within us at all times. I find that Jim Carrey after years of loving his amazing talent and interviews & what I have learned from it all is that he seems to be just like the rest of us. We like him with with super sensitive feelings, appears so caring, and so humble. We all have feelings but there are so many people who are extremely sad, anxious, mad at things we cannot change causing depression, anxiety, & then we turn to things that aren't good for us in order to temporarily hide or run away for a while but all it does is make our life harder and worse. For those of you that don't feel that way don't change!!!!!! The fact Jim wants assist with helping others who suffer is amazing and selfless and I as a fan and someone who could use his thoughts am Thankful to God for giving him the guts to do it. It's awesome!!! We often put on phony masks, phony/fake actions, and attitudes when inside we aren't feeling it. It's so hard to do that day by day, that in itself causes stress and sadness. I blame negative media and I blame negative reality TV because they run it in the ground. Someone please come up with "The Good News Channel" & when you do I want a percentage of the profits 😎 I mean it is my idea, but I would use it to help people. I've been a social worker since 1996 starting with child protection, adult juvenile protection and investigations, worked with agency for persons with disabilities to assist children and adults with extremely severe mental & physical disabilities, and so on. I've seen some tough stuff as have many and we need to help ourselves in order to be a great help to others. If I had money and authority I would have already come up with The Good News Channel, even positive commercials only. Social workers don't make much lol!!! Hey Jim just an idea for ya or anyone else out there for that matter. Just don't forget me k? 😉 I can to help others but also because it is my idea 😊 I would help animals too they are unconditionally loving and should be included They are a creation of God. I would also like to help our environment. So don't leave me out. Anyway, playing around a bit but if it happened I would be super serious because we all need something positive to go to, watch for a change or just get out and there's nothing out there if you like TV (I'm a morning exerciser). Anyway, after a hard serious day all you watch is negative stuff on tv or news via internet so I turn to comedy's like Jim and music. It's as if no one cares about the good stuff when there is actually a lot of good things going on out there in the world if we were informed or had a place to check it out I mean wouldn't you like to know? I stopped watching the news it's too depressing. Kinda like that Like Don Henley(From the eagles) song "dirty laundry" just listen to the lyrics and that will tell you so much with regard to what I'm saying. Thank You for reading & im sorry if I offended anyone or said anything to bother someone. I just would like to see some happiness in the world for a change that would be so nice to see😊. My Love & Blessings to All. Sincerely, Christa

I believe those who want to do big things, such as Jim Carrey, will feel a sense of connection with this video. Every sentence he spoke meant something truly meaningful and deep to me. I see a lot of what a want through what he's speaking. Everything he said answered a question deep within myself that is containing me from breaking free from this 9-5 life and doing with it what I want. Us dreamers don't find any coincidence in spectating this video. It isn't a mere coincidence that I stumble across this video in a time in my life where I have asked God for answers on my life dream and goal. I ask for constant reassurance to keep walking down the path that I'm paving on my own. A lot of you will say I'm just a dreamer with big goals like everybody else but the difference between me and you is that I won't stop until I've reached my goal. I won't settle for a cookie cutter house and white picket fence. I want to travel and inspire others like the way Jim Carrey has just inspired me.

"How will you serve the world? What do they need that your talent can provide? That's all you have to figure out." So simple yet so mind opening. Why don't we teach this in schools? Why don't we talk about this during those long nights with our friends? When has humanity lost its way? I sure as hell feel misplaced in the current generation because it is all about power and money. Love is often superficial and fugitive, not honest and powerful as it used to be. However, I am part of this system that I find so wrong and deluded. One day, I will find that quality in me that only I can provide for the people I love and everyone else and that is the day that I will feel truly alive. Thank you for reading my comment, I hope it inspired you to express yourself as well because, trust me, you will feel better after doing so.

I get where he's coming from.. No humans will ever be worthy, alone, or together. He's discovered that Love is a third party. It can't be possessed, it can only be cultivated. He's a brilliant (Free) man who has discovered the real beauty that this tapestry of fortune, we call life,.. has to offer every one of us. It is beautiful. In every way. He's a leader who has experienced, understood, and discovered that the tinsel means absolutely nothing in the big picture. He is describing the possibility for humanity advancing beyond the lizard brain of fight, or flight. Basically, the rules of faith in Love. Bravo!!! Jim Carry.. Bravo!!!

I want more 'Eternal Sunshine...' I want more raw depth and his capability to intertwine introversion and strategic audacity to perspire in his expression. I intend to search more, but in saying 'more wish not to sound short changed thus far. I have such respect for such a character on and off screen, within chuckles and without!
