The auto industry is the polar opposite of this logic. Every year, the auto industry adds more complexity to their products that does nothing to make the product better. We live in a time where a tail light failure can cost you upwards of 6 thousand dollars. The problem isn't a shortage of mechanics. It's a shortage of people who want to jump into an industry dying of its own self defeating mediocrity.
