It definitely is a little too far to actually bring the film back to theaters BUT it is crazy to see how much sway the internet has over the film industry now. Ever since the pandemic happened everything has been so weird and random lol.

All I’ll say is this. Morbius is one of the movies of all time.

In the span of almost 2 decades, Sony went from making the iconic Raimi Spider-Man trilogy to making a superhero movie so bland that it united the internet in hatred (or apathy). This meme reminds me of how dark knight fans use to pretend to praise and over analyze the CIA agent character and the opening to the third film.

I'm so Morbed by this movie, it's MORBIN TIME!

Morbius jokes aside, I hope Sony see the memes as a call to see what they could fix with the sequel after the first one just got bullied by the Internet because of whatever the hell happened to that movie.

My theater was filled with so many morb heads, it was awesome. It was honestly a louder and crazier experience than endgame. I remember all the morb heads going nuts and screaming when Morbius flew for the first time, when he said the iconic phrase “it’s morbin time,” and when Matt Smith started dancing.

Chris I am from the future . Just here to let you know that this masterpiece of a movie has spawned 69 sequels 37 spinoffs . And not any one of them has let down any of us Mobers . And the latest of the franchise "the Mobers : the final morb " has won 12234 oscars

If they go heavy on the memes and not be so serious in tone with the sequel, there's a good chance that the sequel could outmorb the original Also Matt Smith was embracing the meminess of it all in the first movie, so if all the cast members acted the same way in the sequel, we have another classic on our hands

As much as I love the meme I have no idea why Sony would want to put it back in theaters considering the movie is available on digital for the same price as it would cost to go to the movie. Then I can morb as much as I want in the comfort of my own home with my friends

Every time I see this joke I can't help but feel a part of my soul die. In all seriousness, Morbius could've been such a unique character, only for Sony to do what they did, the jokes and memes to go THIS far: now he's hardly gonna be respected. Makes it more upsetting for me as someone who had hopes to see Morbius Vs. Blade at one point in my lifetime; movie or animation. Two VERY unique vampire characters interacting with each other and now that has a very low chance of happening... it kind of sucks.

If they do a sequel, I just really hope they do like how some MCU films forget or ignore some of their own post credit scenes. Or at least “remake” it with like Eddie or El Muerto in the sequel lmao

I’m honestly excited ! Sony now embracing the side characters aside from Spider-Man you gotta give it to them. Having Marvel put Morbius into Doctor Strange to take on WANDA last minute was a major CHESS MOVE ! Just goes to show the power level Morbius conceals on a daily basis. Can’t wait for that Wanda/Morbius rematch in his sequel!!! Better than the Venom cameo in No Way Home imo! Now we have entered the Morbi-verse of Madness !!!! 😈😈🔥🔥

I’m not going to lie, I kind of liked morbius but hated the role of Adrian in that movie

I feel is way more fun with the parodies or the "didn't really watched" but loved it commentaries... realistically i don't think putting it in theaters again or a sequel is gonna be good for them since, again, the joke focuses more on the fun factor of not having seen it. Why pay for the ticket when in your head you can have Morbius go into the morbtilverse and gather other morbs to make a megamorb? It's kinda how Ugly Sonic is amazing cuz it leaned so far into it.

I'm screaming, I actually like the character Jared Leto was playing, the movie scenes were just all over the place, I'm hoping they'll do the sequel better than the first and no I have no seen the memes-

I'm personally bothered and angered by this announcement, Sony took the memes as an encouragement to unprofessionalism and not wanting to learn from the negative reactions it has gotten before the memes started, this should NOT be encouraged at all cause it's basically "Oh you like bad movies? We'll continue to make more bad movies for all of you folks who are into memes", it's just like what happened to that awful Pinocchio movie that has Paulie Shore, Paulie and everyone involved with the movie took those sarcastic and meme comments seriously and are not taking it to face value and learn from what went wrong and that they'll continue to make bad movies. I DON'T WANT THAT, that's the reason why we have The Asylum in the first place and why we got *FIVE* Sharknado films and REALLY crappy mockbusters like Homeward! Look... I don't hate memes but it can lead to negative consequences like this and it straight up concerns me for films moving forward.

What you have to understand is that no sequel could live up to the same heights as the original. Morbius is simply peak culture. There is, scientifically speaking, nowhere to go but down. Numerous studies have been conducted and the same result has been found. Morbius 2 cannot physically be as good as the first movie, because the first transcended the genre, transcended the labels of good and bad, dare I say morbscended the very idea of what a movie could be. It was a morbsterpiece, and by even discussing it with our inherently lacking IQs, we do the movie a disservice.

Morbius wasn’t as bad as you guys say. I hate how poor Jared Leto gets so much hate. Bad directors … not a bad actor.

I, personally, enjoyed the movie. I do think that the movie could have been better as a while, the post credit scenes were just to get hype for the movie, it feels like. But if there is a sequel, hopefully they fix the problems with from the first one

Here’s my opinion on how they should treat the sequel if they greenlit it. Now I think there’s two choice. 1) Give full creative control freedom over the director (whoever will helm Morbius 2) and no studio interference at all. This way it would prove people that they could change for the better this time. 2) Say the Morbius memes/jokes is still going and they wanna hop in and join in with the fun, then I guess they should do Morbius 2 a complete superhero-comedy. Take the ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ route or the ‘Deadpool’ route. I mean, those films are great, it’s very comedic in tone but yet they don’t shy away from the fact that they are still a superhero and have serious problem that they ACTUALLY resolved by the end. So, if Morbius 2 wanna go ahead and take this route, then why not? As long as it knows how to properly resolved all the plot points they introduced (in a good way, no need to rush things). This way, we could all have what we want. Also I hope that they finally put in the line “It’s Morbin time” in the sequel, because I know for a fact that people, especially Morbius fans, would definitely cheer just like the NWH & Endgame hype.
