You could say that high-performance psychologist Dr. Michael Gervais is in the business of being the best-or at least his clients are. Everyone from the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks to Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd and Fortune 100 CEOs has worked with him to maximize their mental game when the stakes have been the absolute highest. But whether you’re on the playing field or in the boardroom, learning how to discipline your mind (warning: it’s not easy but so worth it) can be the difference between your personal best or completely missing the mark. And it all starts by deciding to see the world differently. Join us for part one of this special two-part episode to start learning how it’s done.

Focus can be trained. Mind naturally wanders, then refocus relentlessly. Imagery. Mental toughness and disciple. By optimism learn to be tough. Front load the training to be optimistic when things get tougher. Must believe that future is good. Naive optimism is dangerous, it’s without any evidence. If you believe that there's ceiling to your potential than its of no use. The only reason we change is pain. Train optimism by finding three good things, it reduces depression, do it for thirty days. Our brains find only danger and if we believe that it is beginning of pessimism. Be engaged at edge of emotional instability. In between hesitation and commitment insight wisdom is revealed, that's were we learn who we really about. Awareness is prerequisite for high performance. Be more and let the doing flow from there.
