If the holiday season has you feeling a little too festive and you'd like some entertainment with a bit more bite to it, 'The Menu' has you covered. Directed by Mark Mylod ('Game of Thrones,' 'Succession'), the darkly comic film follows a young couple who travel to an island for a unique culinary experience crafted by a renowned chef, only to discover something far more sinister is at play. Ahead of its release, RT correspondent Perri Nemiroff sat down with Mylod, writers Seth Reiss and Will Tracy, and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, John Leguizamo, Aimee Carrero, and Hong Chau to talk about crafting the clever thriller. They talk about how they developed their characters, how they played off co-star Ralph Fiennes, and even shared their most recent food photos. Stay tuned to hear Anya Taylor-Joy drop some advice about working on the 'Mad Max' prequel 'Furiosa.'

One of my favourite moments was when Aimee's character was explaining who she was to the Chef, and after mentioning she didn't have student loans, he told her that was the reason she was at the restaurant. It just made me laugh a lot. I loved Aimee in The Maid, I look forward to more of her roles.

Tbh as someone from a first generation low income background who went to one of the ivies with scholarships and grants, I was slightly disappointed at that joke since it perpetuates the perception that top schools are prohibitively expensive for low-income students when they actually offer the most extensive financial aid. It discourages low income students from applying to top schools when media makes it seem like they would need loans. I absolutely loved the film overall, though.

The comedic moments were the best parts of the film. They worked so well without being too much, everyone in the theater would periodically laugh and discuss things happening on screen. It was a cool theater experience where everyone felt comfortable watching the movie but also to vocalize in the moment things we were experiencing without ruining the moment for everyone else in the theater. The vibe was just very respectful and I think most enjoyed it

John and Aimee definitely have the most natural, authentic chemistry of the bunch, sweet how they bounce off each other, big each other up, and just generally comes across as genuine pals.

This collection of interviews is genuinely, refreshingly insightful. It helps that it's a movie worthy of deeper analysis, but these interviews make me excited to rewatch the film.

This movie almost demands multiple viewings and watching all the interviews with cast and director! It's almost like a dark satire horror play. I haven't enjoyed a movie this deeply in a long time! 🎈 🎉

The entire cast has such great chemistry with one another and they played their characters with such conviction that it's almost jarring to see them in normal circumstances. And kudos to the interviewer! Very insightful

RIGHT!!!! She's so weirdly beautiful! She doesn't look like anybody else in Hollywood, yet she is striking (if that makes any kind of sense)

Had to see this twice yesterday and I absolutely loved it! Definitely a Hidden Gem of this year will be on the list for top 10 2022. My personal review will be coming out tomorrow on the KZfaq channel. 😍

I really like the movie, the Mess scene was the scene that sold the movie to me, when the young man does his deed and shocks the crowd, it worked and took it up a notch!

The only part I really didn't like of the movie was the end, I don't know if it was the ending itself or the story just felt unfinished by then
