Hey Doug im jealous and actually glad to see you got this E63. I got my E class from the same dealership and stopped by a couple times considering a trade in around the time this wagon was on the lot @ maplewood, I knew it was a unicorn. In the end no AWD in MN, I just couldnt justify. Saw the drag race also, real nice!

First of all, fantastic car Doug. I recently sold my 2011 E350 Sport and I had an identical problem with the broken Command knob. The inner plastic spindle is the culprit and there is a very handy DIY fix online for it in the event it happens again once you are out of warranty. Obviously, MB can take of it now with a warranty claim. Furthermore, this generation E-Class had a well known problem with the interior wood trim fading. On my car, as well as many other similar year E-Classes, it was pronounced on the dash trim and front doors as they are subject to much more sunlight than the rear doors. If you see any difference whatsoever between the darkness of the wood trim front to back, file a warranty claim as M-B has a service bulletin to address it. You will need to bring it to their attention as they obviously will not volunteer to replace the wood trim on their own. One last thing, the strap above the netting in the passenger foot well is ideal for securing tall awkward items. As a realtor, I will often take a vase willed with flowers to my open houses and you can easily secure the vase using the strap and rip through corners and it stays put. Genius! I loved my E350 Sport, but love my '13 CLS550 even more. Terrific cars they are. Have fun!!!
