Gary Neville, Phil Neville, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes & Peter Lim all own shares in Salford City FC.
Salford are a club based near Manchester and just a few years ago were an obscure non league side. They now play in League 2 and finished the 2020/21 season just outside the playoffs.

The Championship at least and perhaps the Premier League one day if their fanbase continues to grow, especially seeing as many of the lower-league/non-league clubs in the local area are on the brink of dissolution and Salford City might give some of the locals some football to go to. It would really bring the Greater Mancunian footballing community together and offer aspiring young footballers a safe environment to develop as players, away from the harsh scrutiny of the Premier League. Fantastic video.

Alan Shields Hamilton South Lanarkshire Scotland. In terms of Salford City as a club I seen them when they first came up to The E.F.L. when they came to play us at Brunton Park if I remmber correctly we drew 2 - 2 with them. I would say they have a friendly fanbase. I can see them yo-yoing between League one & the bottomed of The Championship at best in times to come or becoming a bit of a submarine club as they like to term such clubs in spain I believe hence Villareal being could The yellow submarine club. In terms of how I feel about such clubs I dont mind as long as they are not owned buy a company like Red Bull because they that becomes at that point an advertising opportunity for such a company. At the end of the day just like the Roman Empire clubs rise and fall if we take Hamburger S.V for example in Germany or Nottingham Forest in England no club stays at the top for eternity P.S.G might be top dogs in France but someone at some point will come along investment in another French club & blow them out of the water this is life. In terms of Barrow A.F.C. they will have there time in the sun of the E.F.L. but I dought it will last more than a decade but having them in The E.F.L. from a Carlisle United point of view means we get two Cumbrian derbys a season Garented. Forest Green will also have there days in the sun but at some point there bubble will burst. Harrogate Town like Salford City I believe will rise up thd Leagues but only to the Playoffs spots in League one without actually getting in to The Championship. I Sweden I believe they have a saying when the Sunshines glory will follow that's why I say clubs like Salford City & Barrow A.F.C are entitled to there day or days in the sun even us Carlisle United had our time in the sun in the 70's playing in the Old Division one & The Anglo Italian Cup playing against A.S Roma beeting them away & drawing at home to them in a midweek afternoon game. the reason the home game was played in midweek at home against A.S Roma was because The Government had a campaign about saving electricity at the time the game was played and local Schools allowed pupils a half day holiday so they could go to Brunton Park & watch the game. Keep Safe Sam.

@The Source Networker 3 6 9 Interesting in terms of what you have to say. I am Scottish also. I am a Pollok fan myself I only follow the senior game in Scotland from a distance now. Chelsea have always been my English glory club as you term it I only took an interest in The Premier League growing up when we got Cable T.V. & I thought I need a club to follow to keep my interest I picked Chelsea but I have a soft spot for Everton because of Duncan Ferguson & the fact they have had many Scottish players over the decades. I like to see Nottingham Forest do well Clough was before my time but I honestly believe he was the best British Manager of all time to take a club like Forest & win two back to back European Cups is something quite remarkable in my eyes we are not talking a club the size of Liverpool , Manchester United or Rangers or even Celtic we are talking or a provincial East Midlands club. I also used to go down & watch Carlisle United before The Pandemic hit one of the last games I seen at Brunton Park was against Salford City. But honestly I will hope any Scots that get a chance with any club in England dose well the more the better from a Scotland National team point of view. I hope Kieran Tierney keeps progressing well down South be it at Arsenal or elsewhere I personally think the boys come on tremendously since he has been at Arsenal. Just wish Billy Gilmour would get more game time with Chelsea it frustrates me no end.

@The Source Networker 3 6 9 I agree with you. This season a lot of the senior football I have watched on T.V ( streaming services ) be it in Scotland or in England has been utter mince to be perfectly frank. I honestly think without fans in stadiums a lot but not all players at the top levels in both Scotland & England are just happy to take it easy & not give 100% as long as they are getting there wages it's been frustrating to watch at times this season. The motivation the further down the Leagues you go is higher at times because they are still trying with a bit of luck to get to the top like a James Vardy. Money is mostly definitely stifling the game if not killing it there is fewer & fewer chances for youing players to get in to sides the higher level of football you go up & it's cussing a disconnect between players & fans the balance of foreign players to youing domestic talent getting a chance is way out of sync it's sad to see. I am glad this European Super League has been sidelined for this point in time that would of killed off lawer League football in time.

There are a lot of Salford hater's,what's wrong with millionaire footballer's buying an old semi pro club? They have put their money in a semi pro club that was going nowhere like most semi pro clubs and got them into the league.they should be commended.Salford is a big City with lots of history it deserves its place on the league. All the haters wouldn't turn down investment in their clubs.wind your necks in just because you have been in the league for years doesn't give you the right to stay in it for good. Football is an industry Salford City FC have created jobs built a stadium and yes invested a lot of money.if your club has no ambition or money it's not Salford's fault.

For every vanity project like Salford, Fylde, FGR that makes its way up, a traditional club like Chesterfield, Oldham and Rochdale have to go the other way. You make it sound so easy to attract investment when in reality it's nigh on impossible, nobody needs a club like Salford, the people of Salford already have a club based at the old docks which is now media city and they've done quite well over the years.

I like how the Peninsula Stadium a.k.a. Moor Lane is tucked into a little cranny in the hills and surrounded by forest so, from the outside, it's unobtrusive, a hidden gem that doesn't look at all ugly compared to the surrounding countryside, and from the inside it's a pleasant place to view a match in; not claustrophobic and surrounded by trees and wide open sky. The design is basic but well executed.

Can you investigate the recent liquidation of Macclesfield Town, seeing as you are in the North West, and the Silkmen's long-standing feud against then owner Amar Alkadhi. I heard that they're rebranding as simply "Macclesfield" and starting back up in the ninth tier of English Football as a phoenix club. Would be much appreciated if you can document the fall and future rise of the Silkmen 😁
