One detail that helped to avoid a lot of bitterness in our operations in that area was our troops when foraging were obliged to conduct ourselves as gentlemen: to pay just rate for the livestock we secured: no stealing, folks... our men paid their bills, we bought the livestock the army fed on, and that honorable conduct helped to avoid a lot of lasting bitterness between those two American peoples.

I think some Mexicans are still bitter about this tho... I agree that since we are both American people, we should try to look past this ancient grudge.

@@jhonklan3794 It wasn't so much a grudge on the parts of the farmers; the regulations the US soldiers kept to and were kept to is one of pay your debts for anything you requisition, you pay full price for. That stopped an awful lot of animosity at that; some is reasonably due to the case that both societies are very patriotic people. I fully understand that, and I support the average Mexican in pursuit of patriotism. My problem with the conduct that's been going on there these days is the drug cartels that're basically running their country; that has got to stop. But I do trust the average Mexican man to stand up those bullies and fight for the freedom of his country from those criminal bullies who're terrorizing his family and neighbors; and the demonic masters of those and all gangsters at that.

The Texas rebellion started at the Battle of Gonzalez in 1835, ended in 1836 at San Jacinto.

Ella dijo en el video que solo era la tercera parte. Además la culpa lo tiene General Santa Ana. Estados unidos sólo quería el territorio de Texas y le ofrecieron a Santa Ana dinero y ser puesto en poder sobre México si el regresaba a México, tomaba control y declaraba paz. Santa Ana aceptó el dinero, pero al tomar el poder en México, en vez de declarar que México quería paz, anunció que la guerra continuaría. Lo demás es historia pero si Santa Ana no hubiera hecho eso, la franja de que disputaba la república de Texas con México hubiera sido lo único perdido. Y también años después ustedes tomaron control sobre los territorios Guatemaltecos que habían en la península de Yucatán.

Paisley I’m not sure why people call it Rio Grande in the US. In Mexico we call it Rio Bravo

Mistakes: 1.-Usa was the aggressor they actually went to Tamaulipas 2.- Tejas was way smaller 3.- we Mexicans were defending ourselves

In short, while paying laborers does cost more, the gains made by paid labor more than make up for the additional cost, and economics isn't about finance, it is about labor and the management of labor. This's not socialism, for it always works best in the local environment, individual men make far better decisions about economy than any central government could about the finances and economies of the individual men in question- due to being far more local to the material at hand.

One of the main reasons why all this happen in Texas was the fact that farmers from the east by law could carry guns, while Mexican farmers by their own law couldn't do it, so naturally by force Texas could be independent and till this day people from there have a strong sense of being first Texans and then Americans.

Omega 01 haha havent you learn already? Every video and even our History are saying very different things about this war. How it started and how it was actually won. Yet.... since we as Americans have this land today and we didn’t live this event over 173 yrs ago. We don’t care and we’re spoiled . And we just eat up anything we hear with no questions

There were not many slave owners in Texas that's why they stayed out of the Civil War until the eleventh hour. Just long enough to half-heartedly honor contracts. And slavery was only abolished in the south look it up.

You mean the north. The south was still primarily focused on agriculture and the production of tabacco and cotton. You have to keep in mind that the North was industrialized and that the south was stuck in their primitive systems. So no, slavery was FAR from abolished in the south, and while yes, you are correct about the slave OWNERS, you are not correct about actual slaves. From a census in 1860, about 30% of the states population was actual slaves. So this comment is a bit uneducated, and for any other student like myself that come to this video, do your research. Don’t mindlessly agree with comments like this.

Someone needs start a petition for separation and different living communities. This will lessen epidemic blows and racial tension. We need to teach our own children don't leave it in someone else's hands. If you deny facts you either ignorant or playing that way.

You do realize this was before the civil war, civil rights movement, industrialization of the south, either of the world wars, and so, SO much more, right? And isn’t kinda just segregation but with extra steps? The idea of America is that it’s a cultural melting pot. People are meant to interact with each other whether it’s positive or negative. No I don’t agree with everything that goes on, both in our history and in our current world, but the literal reason you learn about history is so that we aren’t doomed to repeat it.
