If this video was extended to include the facts after the killing of Qassem Soleimani, and Iraq parliament's request for withdrawal of all foreign troops, you should have included Iraq on Iran's side... (also you should have included hezbollah as one of iran's proxies in lebanon). Besides these minor details, your video is excelent, great job!

The Iraqi parliament was the result of rigged elections, and those who voted are only Shiite parties, and the vote is unconstitutional because those who voted are 141 out of 329, less than half. The departure of the American forces means a Shiite coup in the manner of the Houthis in Yemen.

I have Arab ascendency and one time my father said a quote from a grandpa that came to Brazil when the middle East was under Turkish rule. The quote is: Semites don't know peace, if they kill their external enemies, they'll start fighting each other. And indeed that's what happened, it's funny to see that after freeing theirselves from the ottomans and then the British, these people in the middle East started fighting everyone in their way.
@Lucius_murrius

There's no such thing as Arab cold war , and there's no such thing as '' freed themselves from the ottoman '' , for the regular Arab Muslim ottoman was what u can called Muslim Kalifate , it's a long story but to conclusion there were no wars between muslims or to be clear multiple wars because the winner takes it all , and for the war between Iraq and Iran that one the usa was responsible for it they used Sadam and then overthrown him .

@Rick K WAR OF attrition finished in 1970 after Nasser died, When Sadat became a president he wanted peace, but you didn't listen, 1973 target was not free Sinai, iam Egyptian and I know well we couldn't have free all of Sinai, so Sadat fought only to force you negotiate, Sadat once said to his generals, Put for me one Egyptian soldier in Sinai and I will negotiate and return. I admit that we couldn't have a decisive victory like Israeli had in 1967، Anyway we got our pride back in 1973 war, and we have our land and we are living in peace now, this peace will not last for ever, so I hope when war comes, Egypt be ready.

Good map, but it doesn't feel like a cold war map. Probably because you use a color for each important nation instead of using one for each side. I mean, Iraq was once the main rival of Iran and the biggestplayer in the middles eastern cold war, yet doesn't have a color... It alos bring confusion as to the purpose and ideology of each alliance: for instance, before 1969, you're giving off the impression that Lybia is some kind of client state of Saudi Arabia. You probably need some way to show a contested area, as Iraq is nominally a US ally but contains many pro-Iran militia, to whom a large part of the population is sympathetic. P-S: I'd say the sides are first panarab revolutionnary vs traditionnalist monarchies, then iraq vs iran(syria and lybia supporting iran, the gulf states moderatly supporting Iraq), then the current anti-western Iran vs pro-western Saudi Arabia
