I think we all should be praying for Joe's health and keep supporting the band members who has been very faithful for Mr Ligon for more than 40 years . I pray that God continues to bless this band too keep Mr Joe Login legacy alive. Let's face it ! if you are a true friend or fan and have been following The Mighty Clouds of joy you should know that Ron Staples was picked personal by Joe Ligon. and did most of lead singing... Joe did not win Grammy awards by himself .Just as Michael Jordan didn't win companionships with out his supporting cast...

Ron Staples actually started singing with his brothers (one of his brothers is Bishop Neal Robinson) they were backing the legendary Paul Beasley after he left the Clouds. He became a natural fit for the Clouds do to his vocal style and phrasing which sounded like the Legendary Joe Ligon. May God continue to bless this anointed Gospel Group!

Marc Foy I was just in Ozaukee County Jail with this guy Ron Staples, we were both in there for child support cases, I got out yesterday, he went to prison the day before. He's a very unsavory and self-centered character, even if you pay HALF attention. He actually boasted how it was HIS group compared with the other singers and how he and some Jewish manager of the group own 49% and 51% respectively. He bragged unsettlingly that the other guys worked for HIM and got paid like $300 to $500 a week while he was making 1,000s. Did NOT like this person at all, but I am checking him and the group out on KZfaq as he encouraged me to.

People must overstand that there is a certain sound that gospel artist have. Yes Joe is the voice of the Mighty Clouds. Just like Sam Cooke was the voice for the Soul Stirrers and you have to have a vibe and sound for that group. So my man is keeping Joe's voice alive.

Sounding great guys! I've had the privilege of performing in shows with the MCJ for years. One thing to be sure, these guys are NOT knock offs. They helped carried the MCJ for decades. If anything, with the right push they can continue the name of the Mighty Clouds for decades more. I grew up listening to quartet gospel and gospel in the late seventies the eighties and the nineties during it's golden age. The late 80s, 90's and early 2000's was the time when we performed with them so I have seen their development into Mighty Clouds of Joy members and not just fill ins! Its sad to say that I've had to endure watching all of these great groups from back in the day dwindle down to sad images of what they used to be because no one wants to let go of nostalgia. Joe will always be one of the all-time greats of gospel but that doesn't mean that the Mighty Clouds of Joy should die with him. The last time that I saw Joe sing and Lee Williams and the Pilgrim Jubilees sing, it broke my heart. They were shells of what they used to be. Im not trying to take away their greatness, it is what it is. And that is why people are having a hard time grasping quartet nowadays. Im a great fan of these legends. But im a bigger fan of the groups and the industry as a whole. People were upset and thought that the Temptations would die when they replaced David Ruffin, but they went even higher. I guess what im trying to say is, please respect the past, but embraces the future. If we don't, there wont be a future of quartet!

we're considered the knock off when we're actually doing what he asked us to do. look up the last 2 albums credits and you'll see those same names and faces. him getting sick was not the reason for the separation it was the 3rd player behind the scene that you don't know anything about. a lot of talk with no knowledgeable facts on here but we're gonna continue doing what we do. if you support us thank you and pray for us. If you do not support us thank you and pray for us still.

Devonte we all know Joe's not dead we are all praying for his healing but do you know Joe's not performing right now. he hasn't been to their last performance Tim Woodson lead the group. You have a lot to say to really have no importance in the issue in the first place. also not even knowing what has taken place as to why there are 2 sets. if you don't like us then fine but what's disturbing is your persistence on commenting. Just pray God's will be done and keep it moving. nobody try to take Joe's place or none of that noise you talking.

Robin Richey No sir that is not the case. Although Joe may have been sick which made him absent for a while, he however does not sing with these guys no more. He has his own set of Mighty Clouds of Joy that was formed about three months ago.
