This aircraft never fails to impress, its job is to defend the skies of the free world.

That was some great footage of this rare, impressive aircraft! You can't get much closer to the action than during that taxiing scene!

I saw the guy in front of me step back, I look up and there is the wing tip, that's what I call a close encounter ;)

Its still weird for me, seeing how much people love this airplane...Mighty, impressive, etc are not things I associate with it lol. I worked on them, and absolutely hated this jet. Now, I reminisce and am nostalgic of course, but seeing it (particularly mine) makes me smell it, and remember the pain it was working the flightline. No point being made by me...just an old vet dropping a comment.

Lovely footage mate. So lucky to get up close like that. Here in Oz it's that tightly locked up now.

Very Impressive Jet ~ Another B-707 variant (military) is of course the KC-135 Tanker. This role reverser model takes on it's own refueling probe for those extra long AWAC missions. Backup Crews Mandatory.

There is also the E-6 Mercury.

@@ahmadtheaviationlover1937 They're ESM/ECM Pods which are used to detect and identify enemy targets. I was an Aviation Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy and served on 3 different aircraft carriers. We had 2 aircraft that were used to accomplish these tasks: E-2C Hawkeye (AWACS - Airborne Warning and Control System) and the EA6-B Prowler (ECM - Electronic Countermeasure).

The KC-135 is not a 707 variant. The 707 and 135 are separate families that split from the original Model 367-80 prototype tanker/transport. The military version of the 707 is the C-137 and the original designation of the E-3 was "EC-137".

IF THE HUMAN BODY DOES NOT EXERCISE IT BECOMES VERY STIFF, DUE TO THE EFFECTS OF GRAVITY, I THINK THE SAME APPLIES TO VEHICLES AS WELL, THE STORAGE MANUAL WOULD HAVE EXTENSIVE GUIDELINES FOR THE STORING OF AIRCRAFT, I HAVE WORKED AT AN AIRCRAFT STORAGE FACILITY PREVIOUSLY WITH NEARLY NEW COMMERCIAL AIRLINERS, THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF WORK, AND RECENTLY I WITNESSED A LACK OF MAINTENANCE TO AN AIRCRAFT WHICH ARRIVED FROM STORAGE, AT ANOTHER AIRFIELD, IT WAS MEMORABLE TO SAY THE LEAST, I DECIDED TO RETIRE
