Nice video! As someone who spent many years repairing electronic equipment, I can safely say that for precision repetitive work, nothing beats a good electric screwdriver. When I was working in the field, guys would often tell me about how they had a far superior 18 - 20 volt hammer drill, etc. that I should in fact be using. What a lot of people don’t seem to realize is that the biggest concern is not if the tools are able to drive lag bolts into concrete, it is the stripping out of threads on smaller screws. Too much power destroys them, this is especially true with soft wood or plastic screws. The clutch allows you to predictably limit the power the tool delivers to the screw. Some of the equipment I worked on might have 30 screws that had to be removed and reinstalled to get at the parts to be replaced, that was a real chore with a manual screwdriver. Cordless screwdrivers accurately managed the task without doing any damage to the delicate parts. One note, I generally would work with lower clutch settings initially to avoid doing unintentional damage. Another point, the clutch on a screwdriver is not built the same as an impact driver mechanism, some interesting videos regarding their design are online also.

I've abused mine working in commercial refrigeration, the ONLY thing I don't like about it is that the belt hook threads loosened up within 6 months. It's an awesome, compact, light weight, and reliable unit that doesn't strip unit threads like impacts will.

This is the tool that sold me on the Milwaukee Brand. I purchased a Ryobi drill for around $69 about 15 years ago. I went home to put a 2” or 3” screw in a stud and the Ryobi couldn’t drive the screw in. I returned the Ryobi and found this one (an older version of this one) for $99. I still have it and it has been working great for me. I accidentally got mine wet a few weeks ago and now it is showing some weird behavior with the speed ramping up slowly but I feel like it probably would have kept working had I not gotten it wet. I was still using the original batteries as well with no issue.

There's nothing more annoying than having to hand-screw something together kzfaq.infoUgkx1McjgiqTNcTjrhvRvJWcrk5bzTeQW-Wn except for the pain in your wrist that is. This addition to my tool kit is great and I can get a lot done without all the pain and annoyance. The battery last's a long time and I have yet to run out of power when doing a small project (granted I am saying small project because I'm no construction worker). The only thing that I wish it had was an LED or pair of LEDs to indicate when it was charging and whether or not the charge was complete (or full).

This is my first Milwaukee purchase. I like it a lot. I mostly have Bosch but have recently decided to try some others when they are on sale. So far, the only sort of dud in the bunch was the DeWalt "gyroscopic" screwdriver. I gave it away to a friend who likes it. I hated the way it worked, my Worx 4V is a lot better to use.

I only ever buy Milwaukee stuff when it's on sale. I just picked up a combo kit including this screwdriver and a 3/8 ratchet for $99. Also included a battery and stuff. I now have three of those 3/8 ratchets. I keep getting more of them because what I really want is the other tool that they're bundled with. With the sale price the ratchet is basically free.

As an electrician trainee, I use this thing all the time. The combo of having a clutch and quick release 1/4" hex adapter is the best of both worlds. Always wished they made a brushless version. After searching, come to find out they do. There is both a 2 speed version and a brushless 2 speed fuel version, which puts out an impressive 325in/lbs of torque compared to the 175 of this base model.

@GranMotoring
@GranMotoring Жыл бұрын
@@KiranPatel-fk1pg You could and I have before, but this just offers more control and consistency. Nice to know you're not over torquing and each fastener is torqued the same. We use impacts for larger screws, like sinking lag screws into bracing for temporary power poles or hanging large service panels and strut bracing. But for interior stuff, I prefer this and will grab it more times than not over an impact. And by more times, I mean a lot more, like 9 out of 10 times. But for other tradesman, I could see how an impact would be desirable and this wouldn't suit them.

I have this model and the Milwaukee 2406-20 M12 1/4 in. Hex 2-Speed Screwdriver. Both of these are great tools for what I used daily and both are about the same but since the 1/4 hex has a 2 speed it's just a hair faster than this model. Overall both are great outstanding tools for the work.

Trying to decide between those two & the Fuel version. The 2406 is actually 3X faster than the 2401.
@mengvaj87
@mengvaj87 Жыл бұрын
@BrewCityRider yes the fuel version will be best since it's newer and better motor. However it depends on your application of work. For me I work as an tech so I used the one without speed to take 1/4 and 5/16 screws and the 2 speed I use to take 3/8 to 9/16 bolts and screws, very little duties on drilling though. These two are Hex screwdriver as stated from milwaukee and these 2 are different from the standard drill.

I actually prefer the low torque on this thing. I use this for panel machine screws on helicopters and when set right, it has the perfect amount of torque to match hand tight, and not strip screws. It's also super light weight and compact.

@@tehvishal please explain. I know for a fact that a standard 18v drill in low gear (hi tourqe) will undo a MUCH tighter seized bolt than a standard 18v impact. My Mileaukee m18 drill is even stronger than both my m18 impact wrenches (which are both a fair bit stronger than the impact. @@TKayCOalso how is your drill stronger than your impact wrenches? I have them all from Milwaukee and that’s definitely not the case. I can attest though that the drill could drive a lag a bit quicker, but it definitely isn’t more powerful.

this is helpful , i dont think its worth the 100$ it cost . its bigger than a lot of the other models and yes its got more power and torque , but its a screwdriver i would prefer something smaller and if i need power in a bigger tool that's kind of what drills and impact drivers are for . to me it seems to kind of go into the size and price of a drill or driver and strays away from a screwdriver
