We have reviews every single Milwaukee Quik Loc Attachment there is, and this Hedge Trimmer is just as good as the other attachments we have tried.
No issues trimming hedges, trees and even grass. It's a true all in one system from Milwaukee, and I think you will be impressed with what this Hedge Trimmer can do!

I’ve been using mine for over a year now and in the beginning it was an arm killer…then I realized I could grip my non-trigger hand to the foam grip on the actual hedge trimmer. Definitely helped with the maneuvering and weight, much more usable after that light bulb moment

I just received this yesterday as a birthday gift and used it today on 4 shrubs. This thing is a beast and will wear you down after a while. The strap helps but doesn’t come close to balancing this trimmer. You will find yourself wrestling with it. I’m a big guy with big shoulders and I definitely felt it after just 4 shrubs. Next time I will use the bigger 12 amp battery that came with my Milwaukee mower and see if that helps the balance issue.

The manual says to use Fast mode only, so that is what I recommend. I bought this along with the string trimmer that came with the 8ah battery, and I have never used more two of the four bars. It is very efficient. I have used it on everything from 2 foot high weeds to full grown honeysuckle, briars and pricker brushes. If you take your time, it will go through anything. Even though it is heavier and will wear out your arms eventually, I will likely grab this for the majority of my string trimming duties because there is little risk of the debris coming back at you. I highly recommend it!

@@ToolReviewZone Runtime is my only complaint. For me at least, it works perfectly! My endurance isn't what it used to be since my cancer & ostomy surgeries. When that 9.0 HD battery runs dry, i am usually spanked too in 90+ degree heat. I bring it in & stick it right pn the rapid charger. It's nice to know that i can stick any M18 (5ah in my case) on it & keep going. It is the real reason i got it......1 platform is cool to me.

Good review Clint. Glad to see you didn't have any probs with it cutting through thicker branches like I did. Mine kept jamming up but I think I was trying to trim too fast. Also, the area I was trimming was at the end of my driveway and it was Fescue grass mixed in with Poplar saplings that were 1/2" to 3/4" thick so it just quit working a couple of times. I was also using the 9Ah HO batt that came with the kit and it did hold a charge for quite a while, Those thicker branches really took it's toll on run time though. I do find it rather top heavy even with the larger batt and a bit off balance after some time, but I got used to it. I found the Pole saw attachment is much better balanced and easier to work with. Thanks for your input and objective review. Cheers mate!
@ToolReviewZone
@ToolReviewZone 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I definitely agree with the pole saw attachment buddy. I can also understand that going to fast could clog it up. I had to go over the same area a couple times to get everything cut, but I just put it on high and went to town. I'm also wondering if maybe you have a bent/damaged tooth on yours? I've had branches get caught up in a ryobi unit because of that issue?

Looks like a pretty good quality tool. The biggest issue I see with it is the cost. It's basically a residential/homeowner unit but it is being sold at a commercial price. And then there's the cost of the big batteries you would need for it. Great review clint!

Tool Review Zone - actually, two hedge cutting companies in my area bought these after using Stihl cordless. They run two teams each and have used them since the summer has started and have had nothing but rave opinions about these units. They run 9.0's and they fair well! I am truly impressed so today I decided to buy one as well since I have 200' of thuya hedges and my JD unit is showing a lot of age. I did both sides of the hedges and the tops and ran two 9.0's. I like this unit!

Great tool. I just purchased this myself and agree with pretty everything you said. I have some high weeds along my steep driveway banks for which I need to use the extension pole. I'm expecting it to be a bit unwieldy with the extension but I'm sure it will get the job done.

I have the hedge trimmer and pole saw en route. For years, at another house, I used a B&D pole hedge trimmer and it was miserable, not much run time and all-day charge time. Their little string trimmer was the same, but they got the (small) job done each week so long as I planned ahead. I should note I won’t be using either hedge or saw near the house. I’m on larger land where this stuff is away from the house … and that’s the secret for modern homeowners: Don’t plant trees and shrubs near the house. I realize everyone everywhere does it, but it’s really sorta stupid. Make the exterior of your house prettier some other way and you’ll be happier. She shouldn’t need make-up to look good.

I have a half mile gravel drive and I sit on the tailgate and run the hedge trimmer and take out all the weeds and the wife drives the Duramax by just dropping it in gear and the engine idea speed is enough to move it right along. 20 mins later and the job is done without breaking a sweat. But I still reward myself with beers just the same 😂

Nice review albeit on perhaps not the target workload for this tool. It works great on tall hedges (or your f***n moth**** tree) and allows you to reach the top side without a landscape ladder. It's heavy and awkward and even moreso with the extension -- the strap doesn't provide much if any help. High speed is the only choice as stated in the manual.

I would not use this as my primary trimmer. The use case is for the higher sections of a hedge as well as articulating to cut the top. Get this only after you have an M18 Fuel 18" or 24" trimmer (if you have the need at all).

Unless you have some really awkwardly high trees and bushes, I do not see the point to this. The way it’s designed is insane for usability/comfort. This is for like bush pros who make Mona Lisa’s statues out of hedges. Just buy the regular fuel trimmer. There was never a need to add a ridiculously long bar to it. We just need more hydraulic impact driver options!

Good video but you keep you reviewing it as this would be the single tool for all applications but in reality you would have a regular hedge trimmer and this unit for most jobs. It's meant for hard to reach and taller applications not necessarily ground level shrubs. Considering its 4 tools in 1 and if you do this kind of work it's something to consider especially if you have the M18 batteries already.
