A small fix blade to EDC like this is wonderful. The XL pocket knives are a great backup as well.

That Blade has been one of my Favourite EDCs for the last 2 years. Disappears inside All of my pockets. When it's sitting vertical, I like to click it just out of locked in before walking out. Double Edge Always gives us Twice the Range of Motion. Good Blade. Good Video.

I have the Kyoto 2, and I carry it every day as an EDC blade. I wear it as a neck knife, but on a long enough lanyard, so it hangs under my left arm, for a right handed draw. As for use, yes it is the last ditch self defense knife. But, its also a great knife to have around the kitchen. I am a fisherman and I know it will be useful when I'm fishing. To cut bait, line, and clean fish. I also have the Mini Tack Bowie, and that one is primarily for self defense. Stay safe and keep em sharp.

Your right about keeping your non knife arm away from the attacker because if they grab you and they have a knife to they will use that arm to leverage or hold on to you while they stab you repeatedly over and over until you bleed out

If they made it with a 7" blade ..... would be like a modern Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife.

I got mine in today with a c clip. In Oklahoma. It's fine to carry a sword cane daggers bowies, whatever as of 2016. One of the greatest strong suits of this knife is that it has a short handle and two edges. If it became a grappling match for the knife, they have their work cut out for them, I'd say.

I have me one of those. Nice! I like cold steel. I havent gone one yet that wasn't on point. The 8cr.. aus 8 aus 10 steels platform they do it well.

Live in Greece and I love my Cold Steel knives . I wish they'd release the Engage with a black coating , like the Recon 1 . I'd buy it in a second !

I agree with you about folders. I rather have a fixed blade. Nowadays fixed blades are more bang for buck and way cheaper than a lot of folders especially the American made folders. Who needs a 900 dollar folder to cut boxes at work? They got box cutters.

Do you have a link for the C-clip? Totally not a fan of the zip ties except as a last resort. Very disappointed that Cold Steel did not include a belt attachment for the small self defense knives.

That blade is way to small for an EDC in my opinion, but if thats all you can carry it's great.

Do you live in a dangerous area? I don’t so I don’t need a self defense knife. I usually get bushcraft knives because I use them a lot
