The layout for the controllers on the Neo-Geo mini were designed with fighting games in mind. It puts your punches on top and kicks on bottom (from weak to strong) in games like King of Fighters.

Finally good Mini Systems video! It's worth noting 512MB limitation of NES Classic is easily bypassed with USB or even nifty SD mod. The NEOGEO X firmware can also be hacked to fix video issues, load more games and emulators, which makes it better than NEOGEO mini IMO.

Forget the neo geo mini, get a switch and choose the hamster ports of neo geo games of your *choice*.. 108 titles currently available.

I have fond memories of Battle Arena Toshinden. I bought a PS right after it came out and got that game with it. It was a few weeks before I had money for a second game. My friend and I played the hell out of it, it seemed so futuristic at the time.

I was wondering if you guys thought about putting a footer/header with the game title beneath each game you show for a couple seconds. Sometimes you blast through game titles so fast, I miss their name and have to rewind as couple times to find the game. Not that big of problem mind you, but I've found many games through your show and this idea might help myself and others in the future.

The NES Classic was restocked and now is fairly common on store shelves. I’d grab one soon though because they are out of production. The initial release sold out quickly but they made almost 3 million of them. SNES classic never had stock issues thankfully. The PS Classic can be greatly improved with the 8bitdo adaptor for a DS4 and access the emulator menu.

They should do a ds Classic mini for the rising gen z population, like me and a gba classic

I had mine all preordered and paid off when it was announced, but as the truth about the thing came to light, it was an easy cancellation. Too bad. Love the ending, guys. Ps classic goes from zero to hero when you decide to add more games, for and all in one retro game emulator it’s the best choice of anything available imo, I have over 8,000 games and 37 different systems on my ps classic and they all look and play great‼️💯

Yes Dave, I do have fond memories and find myself coming back to the PS1 version of Rainbow Six from time to time. Once you learn the controls and how to play it properly, it's a great game. The PC original is obviously the complete package, but the Playstation version is an enjoyable experience. Same for Battle Arena Toshinden, but the Remix version for the Saturn, as it was one of the first 3D fighters I played against my brother and while the gameplay was lacking even then, we found ourselves having a blast with the clunky animation, voiceovers and specially the ring outs. This is also true for games like Mortal Kombat 4, WWF: Wretlemania - The Arcade Game, NHL 97 and so on.

Rainbow Six is a pretty good game but I can't imagine playing it on the Playstation.

The emulator on the SNESClassic supports all the major "helper chips", and specifically with them all the major most popular games using those chips. I was able to get StarOcean working on it for crying out loud! lol It was, and maybe still kind of is, a major misconception and myth spread by excessive modders who are obsessed with putting retroarch and other fan emus on these devices for some reason, that the default emulator (canoe) "barely runs any of the SNES library", and thus those other emus are required. But in reality, through my own and others research and testing there are very very few games that canoe will not run. Basically, it run's about 99.9% of the SNES catalog with either no or minor issues.

The c64 joystick only came with one button that's why the ghost and goblins (and some others games) use "up" for jumping. The others buttons are for using the mini menu and some are mapped for f1 and the space key if I'm not mistaking

AC/BD on NeoGeo Mini is made with the fighting games in mind; and it is *significantly good* for that. It's my favorite of the mini systems too; in that it's the only one that doesn't need a TV attached to play it.

I have a small grudge: Dave, Syphon Filter is a great game with a lot of things explained, a lot of elaborate maps and a great experience overall.Why did you not mention it?

To get the most enjoyment out of the Mini C64, I bought a Perixx mini usb keyboard that has a built in usb hub for the joysticks, also got an adapter to use a much better joystick (the Wico Command Control) the biggest issue with the stock joystick is that it can break easy due to a very tiny screw holding it in place - there are tutorials on how to put in a larger screw to enhance durability but haven't tried it myself.

A hacked NES classic w/ a wireless controller is a great time. A pal and started a a Retro Game Day, he's got the NES ans SNES Classic as well as a "mini Genesis" that actually runs really well.

Only own the NES and SNES classic and i'm pretty happy with them, specially the SNES with some pretty hard to get games on them, it's a good way to own with no online needed.

In all honesty, to be completely honest, in the merit of honor, you guys make every other Friday great. Not gonna lie....

I don't think there will be a PS2 classic. PS2 emulation needs a pretty beefy PC to begin with and on Android it also needs the highest end chips just to play somewhat well. Doubt Sony will bother with making custom hardware that can run PS2 games given they couldn't be bothered to make proper software for the PS1 Classic which bassically any low end ARM SoC from the past 5 years can run the PS1 emulator flawlessly.

Playstation Classic back on sale for 40 bucks. It's worth it at that price.

Okay Joe, I'm going to have to ask for your shirt...give me, give it to me now! Seriously cool shirts as always guys. I was lucky to get my hands on a Nintendo mini without even looking for it. I lazily went to Wal-Mart at 7:30ish and snagged the last one they had. What was crazy, they had a line that wrapped around the building almost an hour earlier. They only got 10 of them and thought they were sold out. I was walking through the electronics department and noticed it under an end cap (I guess it slid under it). I was not caught by surprise for the Snes and got mine fairly easily. The Snes mini is a fantastic piece of hardware that is such a joy to own. I decided to mod this as it is not rare like the Nes. The only problem I have with the Snes Mini is that it is missing some games it should have. Chrono Trigger anyone, and Turtles in Time are some that should have been included...which is why I modded it. I also bought my fiance her own Snes Classic and I modded hers as well. The Neo Geo mini was a fantastic purchase that I actually had to chase. My issue is, I have not been able to find the damn controllers for it as mine did not cone with any. I love that little machine and think it is really well built. I disagree with Joe on the controller, I like it quite a bit. The button layout is really annoying on the machine. Finally, I stupidly purchased the PSX mini and what a piece of shit. I only own 4K screens and this thing looks bad in 4K...I mean atrocious. I payed...$100 for it...yuck. You mention not being able to plug it into anything and not working...interesting. I have a theory about the PSX mini that most of them are faulty. I got mine and brought it home, the pucture was so bad on Ridge Racer that I could not tell where the track ended and the wall began. I wound up taking it back for an exchange and when I got it home I immediately hooked it up. It was better...I mean it still looked bad but it did look much better. I went from not being able to place in the top 5 in a race on Ridge Racer (I lost badly) to actually beating the game again. I usually use my PSPRO or my Xbox One X (that makes me laugh a little) to charge it with no problems at all. I have also used my Snes/Nes Mini plug to run the PSX Classic as well. The C64 mini...no thank you. I had a Commodore 128 slightly before my Sega Master System and NES. I put it down rather quickly after getting my 8-bit consoles in 1986/1987.
