Saw this movie this evening and I have to say... It's Awesome! What a great story all based on real events! The acting, the action, the realism and the end all just worked! In fact, so well that in a fairly crowded theater for an advanced viewing, we all applauded at the end! Highly recommended!

This film is a masterpiece. Guy Ritchie brings brilliance and charisma to the silver screen with a perfect ensemble of a cast that meshes incredibly well. The reaction of the audiences during the early screening proves just how great of a cast it was. It's about the untold, true story of a secret mission prompted by Winston Churchill during World War II that was unknown to the public until documents from that era were declassified in 2016. Although the history of that time was anything but light hearted, this film brings to light glimpses of that era with plenty of action, implementing laughable moments throughout. This film is very much rated R and will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The dark humor and wit just makes this film obsessively good, and it will definitely go down as a cult classic! You won't regret buying a ticket to watch this movie!

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: that was a lot of fun! Fantastic cast clearly enjoying themselves in Guy Ritchie’s action comedy. This one is more predictable than some of his past efforts like The Gentlemen, but it’s also based on a true story and Ritchie apparently stays pretty accurate to real life events. A very enjoyable way to spend a couple hours!

Kind of shocked when I saw the ratings of this. I am a long time fan of Guy Richie - Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels to Rock N Rolla all the way up to The Gentlemen. He's brilliant in the way he shoots movies and has that signature type. Although this movie was not one of those - it definitely was good - based on a true story. Cavill once again proves how good of an actor he is and the supporting cast definitely plays off each other well.

This movie would make a great double feature with Inglorious Basterds. Henry Cavill should do more comedic roles. Appreciated that everyone had a role that made them useful on the team especially Majorie. Two main criticisms, the film slowed in pace during the planning stage and there were no stakes, none of the team lost their lives in the execution of the plan in fact only one was even shot. the plan was too easily executed almost like beginner mode on a video game.

Basically, any review under 4 stars for this movie should be totally ignored. For a good movie about a true event, leading to the development of the most famous fictional secret agent of all time, this is a jewel of a movie. I went to see it because I love Guy Ritchie films. I didn't know the backstory until later, and that made it even more enjoyable. The 3 star and below reviews are, by and large, made up of movie snobs that think every film should be an Oscar winner. Relax and enjoy a good, entertaining, and true story (at least by movie standards.) Have recommended this movie to all my friends, and everyone I know loved it. It's another Guy Ritchie gem.

All these people with there low reviews talk rubbish ... Just the truth. Guy Richie is a brilliant story teller and this movie was fantastic , The cast chemistry was amazing and the two performances that stand out the most are Alan and Henry . Don't listen to all the negative Nancie's and go give it a watch it is a fun , action packed movie and it does it extremely well.

This movie is a roller coaster of frenetic action juxtaposed against slower scenes necessary for exposition. It's great to see Henry Cavill displaying less than heroic behavior without his usual stoic stiffness. Alan Richson serves up the blood and testosterone and this is easily Eiza Gonzalez's brightest and best acting to date. Indeed in some ways she carries this movie at times. The alternating jazz and spaghetti western scene music is both off-putting and intriguing. This movie would easily rate 5 Stars if it weren't for some minor pacing issues.

The biggest negative of the film is the whole subplot with Marjorie trying to gain the German commander’s trust. It never fully developed and ended up just wasting a bunch of screen time with worthless scenes. It could have been interesting if executed better I suppose. I would have rather had more screen time with the main crew led by Cavil’s character. Overall an enjoyable watch if you like war films with lots of violence.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a true story set in World War II. The story was largely unknown to the public until 2016 when documents from that era were declassified. The dramatized narrative does have its silly moments, as shown in the previews, but the story is nothing but. Had these brave men and women not completed the mission, there is a chance Hitler would have won the war. If you wish to see arrogant Nazis get shot, blown up, tortured, stabbed, or otherwise maimed, then definitely go see this movie. It was most satisfying to see as many of them hurt as possible. Even knowing that the Germans lost the war, I was on the edge of my seat during the covert action, but also laughing out loud while they perform said action. There are so many movies made about World War II that I was very pleasantly surprised to see one that I knew nothing about. I know this was intentional as the operation was classified. So many acts of bravery and heroism still continue to not see the light of day, and I cheered (along with the rest of the audience) at the conclusion. It’s very much an R rated film, but this is one that everyone should see. So much could have gone wrong throughout the entire war that life today as we know it would be so different. Always remember that the war didn’t just last 6 years, only direct combat. This had been going on for decades, and the lessons learned afterwards must still be repeated.

I will say first that this movie requires an intense intellectual engagement by the audience member. The humor is teased in sly jokes and circumstances. The audience member (must) be "fully engaged," or some of the more important aspects can slip past you - and they are gone. If you fail to pay attention, you can "get lost," quickly.

I enjoyed this movie. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Welfare was excellent. I heard that that this movie was not doing well in the Box Office. Well, I believe that this will be a cult hit. Probably do better on pay for cable television. Is supposed to be base on a true story. People should see it. How commandos and special forces operate. When they are out numbered by enemy forces. I give this movie a five star rating. Henry Cavill and the other actors had to create their own version of the real person who actually done it. Since these individuals had all passed away.
