Stories from Crete from Greek mythology was always my favorite and had my best interest, with Talos , Laybrith , the islands and how they was created, the whitebull and Jason and the Argonauts. Now finding out that Atlantis could have an connection with Crete is even greater.

I have been an archaeologist for over 35 years. I am now trying to buy an area of land on Crete to conduct excavations and would welcome significant interest.

The Minoan supreme goddess is likely a manifestation of mother nature (proto-Gaea) and/or Chaos. It is interesting consider that the Titans might have been the gods of the post-Minoan Greeks, and the Olympians the gods of the classical Greeks. The usurpation of each successive pantheon of gods may well be what is recorded in Greek mythology.

9:50 This subject interests me in regards to Idomeneus. Wasn't Idomeneus supposed to be the grandson of King Minos? So would that make him Minoan or Myceanean? I know in the Illiad it mentions Idomeneus was held in high regard along with Agamemnon, and that he sent 80(?) ships to Troy since he was a suitor of Helen's.

One thing, that I didn't notice at first, you claim that Minoans arrived to Greece during the Middle Paleolithic, 128,000 BC. That 's not the main topic of this video, but where did you get such data? The only thing that comes to my mind is the skull of Apidima 1, which is really found in Greece and dated to the Middle Paleolithic. The owner of the skull had probobly been a mixture of Anathomically Modern Human and Neanderthal. But it is not 128,000 years old, but around 210,000 years old. Secondly, the fact that a group of anatomically modern humans had arrived to Europe already in these times, doesn't certainly mean that they are the direct ancestors of later Europeans. This early exodus from out of Africa either died out or mixed with the Neanderthals that inhabited Europe at the time. Anatomically Modern Human began to replace Neanderthals in Europe around 45,000 years ago, and this was a completely new migration from out of Africa. But the ancestors of the Minoans were probably mainly Anatolian farmers who arrived to Europe around 7,000 BC.

Why would some things be similar, and others be completely different. 🤔. I absolutely love the history and the learning of the fascinating Minoans. I ve read (I'm not sure if its 100% true though) that a shepherd in Crete found a cave with some really weird ancient items in it and notified the authorities and after that they transferred them in a museum(if I recall correctly in heraklion) and we never heard of them again. He later said(the shepherd) that they items look liked they are from another planet).I dont remember exactly the details of the story but if someone is interested in it he/she google it or sth.
