Tom try your one arm handstand with your legs crossed in a lotus position. I think it’ll help you keep balance and counter the tilt of lifting one arm off the ground.

Just discovered you now. Great job! Your practice is good, but I noticed you stretch your free arm out and press your pointer finger into the ground to assist. Try loosening your elbow and pull your elbow up like theres a string attached to it. You can then swing your free hand like a pendulum to balance. Extend your elbow and stretch you arm if you fall towards flag/ pull your hand in if you fall towards your 2 arm HS. I noticed this helps for taller people take their weight off their free arm.

Impressive and inspiring progress! How many fingertip sets do you do per session roughly, like what is the range from a bad to a strong day?

ahh this video and series is awesome, I'm currently working on my OAHS too, hold time is starting to get consistent and I'm also building towards the 10 secs freehold. I'm curious what your program is for OA Tom?

Tom your calisthenic journey is very encouraging, i'm also 6'4 and 180 lbs. Recently began my own journey, loving all the gains! Just trying to avoid injury. Any advice for a giant beginner?

Maybe this is worth making a video all by itself. I would say the best thing to do is a lot of basics. Definitely don’t underestimate the value of general conditioning

I’ve been working on handstands for around 3 years. I’ve been consistent with one arm practice for about 6 1/2 months. I’ve gotten a couple 7 second holds on my right, and 5 second holds on my left. I think my biggest struggle has been trying to find the right balance of training volume. If I do to little I plateau, but if I do too much I burn out.

Hi Tom, I wanted to get your perspective on the two arm tuck (head through) away from the wall. I've been putting in a lot of work close to the wall and can get into a solid position (as my shoulder flexility is pretty solid) with good 20+sec unassisted holds..... but only after I typically lower my legs/feet into the position, dragging my toes/feet against the wall. I guess I have a fear of bringing my head through without the wall there as it throws off my orientation a bit. Would it make sense to try and pirouette normally or just roll out if I feel like I'm falling forward? Or should I work on slowly tucking my chin/shifting my gaze more and more over time? Also, where do you focus your eyes on the full head tuck? Thanks!

Practice head in in the straight position and understand balance there. The head position changes a lot

Great video Tom! I have recently been having some struggles with body line as I am getting more and more consistent 10 second two arm HS holds (usually 1-2 per session). I received the advice that I should not worry too much about body line until I'm more in the consistent 15-20 second range, as once I am better at making balance instead of finding it, it is easier to correct form as I make the balance. Do you agree with this advice? I am worried about becoming too used to iffy form, and then having a much harder time correcting it. Thanks!

Focusing too much on your form will slow down your handstand progress. Train your form against the wall for conditioning and train your balance off the wall. Try to get 30s - 60s holds consistent 9 out of 10 times before focusing too hard on your form in the free standing handstand.

Yup completely agree. Balance is most important first then once you can balance you can figure out bodyline

I see that your fingers are not flat, which i think provide more strength, balance and grip, i used to do breakdance and all my balance tricks and freezes were done with flat fingers.
