I am addicted to your videos Stephen. The council ought to pay you for promoting Blacpool, as you do a great job. When I was very young my mum and dad came to Blackpool most years. I think it is the best seaside resort I have been too. There is plenty to do. All the best Stephen. Keep up the good work.

Trams also used to turn round at the front of North Startion. They had a route which came up Dickson Road. This was closed in the early 60s.

Looking at nls maps, it looks like only the very end of the curve of Sainsbury's (nearest the town centre) clips Swainson Street, which ran through to George Street, crossing the first green area, nearest Cookson Street. About halfway down it's length was another now-missing street, named Eden Street, which continued across Larkhill Street to Buchanan Street, with which a crossroads is formed with Fisher Street, directly opposite the end of Eden Street. Larkhill Street ran from the opposite end of the Sainsbury's curved frontage and parallel to Swainson and Buchanan Streets - as did Seed Street, which ran between it and Larkhill Street. It appears that the short left turn off Talbot Road immediately after the Ramsden Hotel and shown at 08.29 in your video (with ahead only signs), is in fact, a remaining part of Seed Street... A further, much shorter and also now-missing street named Hornby Street, also connected Eden and George Streets, midway between Swainton and Larkhill Streets!

The beer monsters haha you are so funny Stephen, i remember the big brick wall opposite the bus station which had posters advertising the Blackpool shows it was part of North station, i used to catch either the number 2 of number 15 to take me home in the bus station , i think New Larkhall street was just called Larkhall street back in the day ...i would now struggle to find my way around Blackpool now so much has changed from my youth.

Yes, there was an original Larkhill St that ran in between the car park and the indoor bowls place where Sainsburys is now. My grandad lived on 17 Larkhill St on the 1911 census and was one of 9 living in a 2 up 2 down. Loving the videos btw😊

There was an auction house near there, and a cab office. The cab office was for Progress taxis, the cab company that was bought out by C. Cabs, about 10 years ago. Process Taxis was opened on october 3rd 1983.

When we were in Blackpool in 2004 my boyfriend (now my husband) and Me had our dinner in a lovely little cafe opposite where they had just started work on the Houndshill. I think it was on Adelaide St.The lady who owned it told us they were closing in 2 weeks to make way for the shopping centre -shame.

I remember seed street, my mum used to tell be about a bomb that was dropped on it during the war. I can't believe you mentioned the tache, used to be my favourite drinking hole in the late 90s, i can smell it now! I also used to go for a few in the rammy arms, if you had a few too many you could get a room upstairs for about £20

Wife told me about your channel - great stuff. Me and my bro have been trying to find places we went when we were kids. One of our three Blackpool holidays was in 1974 at the 'Dene House' ( or 'Dean House' ). I cannot remember whereabouts it was and wondered if anyone else knew? I remember us being ripped off by the guy who ran it who claimed he was fitting a new shower in our room ( double-booked, I bet ). We ended up a few doors up at a guest house called 'The Derby House', which was run by a nice old couple ( Not the same Derby House as we stayed at in 1981 ). I noticed today that our 1971 holiday residence - The Balmoral Hotel ( later 'The Argosy' ) has been demolished. Chunks of the place disappearing left, right and centre.

The coach used to stop off at Tebay Services it used to take ages to get to Blackpool, Swainton Street interesting street name very similar to My surname.
