I’m really digging the limitations of these machines in comparison to Elektron’s top tier kit which is easy to get bogged down in. The simpler, more up-front workflow just lends its to creativity and shitloads of fun.

Great work. I always found this kind of teknow (going back to early 90's and on) easily as trance unducing as Trance music (old classic trance, and psy). The repetition and call and response...

Wow! Reminds me of Ministry's "Crash and Burn" off of their "Twitch" album, but instead of programing two machines together for this crazy killer jam it was days of cutting and splicing tape together. You are a master Ehsan!

One suggestion: You could use the Page/Fill-Button to give the beat a quick change instead of muting the bassdrum. For example you could make a trig with FILL for a snare and the bassdrum to get a quick variation. :) And the beat still goes straight on and on Hm-Tss Hm-Tss :)

Very late here but what do you mean exactly? Wouldn't using page/fill just extend and copy the current pattern? I've been exploring my Cycles recently and I'm just trying to figure out what you mean :) Thanks!

@@BIG_PASTA 9.12.5 FILL MODE FILL mode is a trig condition that can be used to create a temporary variation, such as a drum fill, in your pattern. You activate FILL mode at any time, and for any duration, by pressing and holding the [PAGE] key when the pattern is playing (GRID RECORDING mode cannot be active). The FILL mode is active for as long as the you hold the key. Press [TRACK] + [PAGE] to latch FILL mode The [PAGE] key flashes when you are in FILL mode. Press [TRACK] + [PAGE] again to unlatch FILL mode.

They seem to have immediate response and to be very performance friendly. Would've probably gone for these, since I'm a hobbyist, but now I already have a Takt, so going to follow it with a Tone. I'm more of a programmer than a performer anyway. Lovely demo!

That is exactly what I thought. I sold my Digitakt, because I found difficult to interact with it when jamming. It is a great tool though.

This video isn’t making it any easier to decide which one to get. I was planning to get a Model:Samples since the Korg ESX-1 I have owned for over 15 years (and still use!) is almost full. But the Model:Cycles is tempting since I don’t own any FM devices.

Those old original tribes die pretty hard! I smashed the hell out of an ea1 for years! The only answer of course is to get both, and they'll totally be a tidy little power pair that will give you another 15 years of musical enjoyment at least!

Cheers! Indeed that's exactly what I've done with the crash :) well, it's usually either 1st or 1:8 condition.

What one do you like more? can you shape sound in model samples like how I hear in model cycles? How many prebuilt patterns are in each machine as well?

Hard question..hard to say which is better, they both rock the f#k out with no outboard compression needed....cycles FM engine, sculpt away, samples is samples but sculpt away. Learn one and the other is a breeze ✌️😋
