Iloilo City is on Panay Island in the Philippines.
History*
Iloilo is one of the oldest cities in the Philippines and has many well-preserved historic sites dating back to the Spanish era, including churches, ancestral houses, and mansions. Some notable churches include Jaro Cathedral, Molo Church, and Miago Church. Other heritage homes include Molo Mansion, Nelly Gardens, Casa Mariquit, and Camiña Balay nga Bato. Iloilo is also home to the UNESCO-listed Hinilawod Epic Chant Recordings at Central Philippine University.
Food*
Iloilo is known as one of the gastronomic capitals of the Philippines and is famous for dishes like Pancit Molo, La Paz Batchoy, Chicken Inasal, and KBL (kadyos, baboy, and langka). In 2023, Iloilo was named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
Culture*
Iloilo is also known for the Dinagyang Festival, river esplanades, and Spanish colonial and American-era architecture. It's also the center of Candelaria devotion in the Philippines.

nice tour of festival walk mall and surrounding area. I'll be moving there in 6 months and want to find a nice western amenities hotel for a couple of weeks while I look for a more long term condo rental. my first time to the Philippines and I'm excited in my new ventures I'll have there. being 74, I like biking, walking, and dining. I love the warm weather and the seashore. If you have any suggestions on good affordable condo's for rent there, that would be appreciated. I originally was going to Cebu, but after seeing the infrastructure, heavy traffic, dirtiness of the surrounding areas, I decided Iloilo would be a better pick for me. my budget for a condo would be around 25k pesos per month, furnished.

Thank you so much for checking out. All you've been looking for is here, but the beach, we haven't visited yet. Most of everything you need is just nearby, especially the Esplanade, hospital, malls, and S&R like Costco. I can't promise you a 25k/ month furnished, but the safety and convenience. Hello 3 hrs drive in northern part of Iloilo province is Carles, Estancia and Conception has plenty of white sand beaches not crowded fresh cheap seafoods, you can try Island Hopping Gigantes Islands, Antonia Island, Sicogon, Tanke lagoon
