What revenge? You were given a free kick that shouldn't have been given to you, and from an offside situation, you caused Suarez to stop the ball with his hands. Finally, you got a penalty kick which you missed, just like today again.

Ghana taking everyone forward would have exposed for a counterattack and possible uruguay goal. Meaning they qualified. After realising they were going out, they decided to take uruguay with them. Both uruguay and portugal were favoured to go through. Ghanians dont hate uruguay, they dislike suarez, so to do the italians. Suarez last world cup, his exit in the first round.

I lived in Ghana for a couple years and the people are amazing. To see them back in the World Cup this last year was awesome! Too bad they didn’t make it further! Hopefully we’ll see them make the ‘26 World Cup here in the US, I’d definitely go watch them play!

Uruguay did not go through, that is joy. Ghana could easily allow Uruguay score an extra goal if they had been nice to Ghana in the past. But rather Ghana mounted defence to deny them the goal that will take them to knock out stage. To see Suarez cry is the revenge, it brought so much joy. It must me painful to win a match and still cry. Lovely feeling.

I was very happy to see South Korea going through, but I hated the narrative of Ghana taking revenge for 2010, when of course they were not robbed of anything or cheated at all back then. There are many reasons to hate Suarez, but the handball incident in 2010 shouldn't be one of them. He stopped Ghana advancing / Uruguay being knocked out due to an illegal goal stemming from a huge dive (Dominic Adiyiah threw himself to the ground to win the free-kick), scored by the diver himself (it was Adiyiah's shot that Suarez blocked), that also should have been disallowed due to Appiah being offside.
