Many expect more context of the reunion in the next chapter, personally for me it is perfect this way.

The only writing criticism I'm really giving the episode is the reunion with Paul. In the book he still thinks he's asleep until Rudeus mentions having a child soon. Paul had thought Rudeus was a dream and went ahead trauma dumping everything. After he heard Rudeus is having a child, he snapped fully awake and patted Rudeus' face all over, asking whether he's a dream. "Am I dreamy enough to seem that way?" "Yeah, you're really you." Then he was running on all cylinders. He properly welcomed his son and gave him a rundown. Here he really seems like he's on the verge of losing it.

4:40 Geese had to hold Elinalise down the last time she saw Paul. Seeing how Talhand is amicable with Paul again, Geese might've pictured Elinalise might mellow out as well. As to what Paul did, it *was* bad, but not necessarily in the way you might otherwise picture it. Without the wider context: he unilaterally disbanded the party, denied he ever needed them as friends, and ran off with Zenith (and Rudeus within her) and the other members' reward money for their latest job. Elinalise has had 17 years to nurse the grudge and think about things. In the end it's easy for her to forgive him. >Paul purposefully arsoned his bridges with the members for a clean break, while she intended to leave Cliff without a word "for his own good." >Paul ran off with her money, but she's well past monetary concerns. >Paul had raised a wonderful son, so something good came out of his determination. >He's sincere in his request for aid and with his apology. She was left with no grounds to hold that grudge anymore except petty pride, and she's far too old for that sort of nonsense.

The last time Rudy saw Roxy in person was in Season 1, EPISODE TWO! It's been that long! It's hard to believe, because the audience has seen Roxy in many episodes and Rudy is always mentioning her, but Episode 1 is when she showed up and Episode 2 is when she left. One thing the anime doesn't make as clear in this episode, is that the reason Roxy swung her staff (and it was knocked away), was that she was completely out of mana at that point. After struggling to survive by herself for a month, in a dark space, fighting almost the whole time, not knowing how to get out, with no sense of time, and not knowing if anyone was coming for her. She really thought that was it... there's also some fluid leaking under her. 😢 I'm a little unhappy that you said that Rudy tried to sleep with Elinalise, but while technically that happened, he was under the control of the scent from the succubus at that time. Rudy wasn't trying to sleep specifically with Elinalise, he would have slept with any female -- which is the point of that scent. In the anime it has Elinalise tell Rudy to detoxify himself. In the novel, he needed to use the detoxify spell multiple times before it finally cleared away. The fact that he was able to resist touching Elinalise through just his willpower before going outside is actually rather impressive by itself and speaks volumes to how much he has changed since season 1. I think he should be getting recognition for that instead of implying that he almost slept with Elinalise.

13:30 as an LN reader, I really hated where they ended it. There's still a bit more to the chapter, and I hope they're not skipping it, but there's a bit of dialogue that happens immediately after. If it at least gets shown before the opening next episode, then that's fine too, but I still wish they had ended the episode where the LN chapter ends.
