Getting a state park pass is always a good idea if you are spending some time in that state. Remember your first trip to an area is so you can plan your next trip to the area.

Getting a park pass if you’re going to be there for an extended time is a good deal. We checked out some of those for future trip. My favorite was Rockhound.

Thanks... stayed at all but two. Ute Lake really is off I-40 a ways and nothing around. Same for Oasis but it is convenient being 1/2 way between Amarillo and Rosewell. We lucked into a 50 amp full hook-up at Oliver Lee because they were short a camp hosts and site 27E was available. Two other great NM state parks campgrounds are Clayton Lake State Park & Dinosaur Trackways and South Monticello Campground at Elephant Butte Lake State Park. Another great state park down around Carlsbad, but in Texas, is Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site. It is perfect on a trip that includes Guadalupe Mountains National Park and Carlsbad Cavern National Park. NM state parks are very reasonable even without the seasonal pass. Thanks for sharing. Really appreciate how you overlay your site and amenities on the shots of the sites.

We had stayed in Santa Rosa Lake State Park in 2022 and it was really nice. We had Sumner Lake booked, however, the State Park canceled our reservation and had to switch to Oasis. We heard The Elephant Butte is really nice. We will have to add the others for our next trip to New Mexico- Thanks- Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya

Another great video!! We will be going to New Mexico sometime in the next couple years and this was fantastic to learn about. Also you guys just kept cracking us up first the cow jokes, then the skid marks and the probing!! LOL!! Your sense of humors are great. We are in so much trouble when we get together. This is great to know. We really havent stayed at too many state parks. We plan to do more. The price for this was great. We have only been through New Mexico once in our travels so far. Good tips on the New Mexico State park pass ! Can’t beat 40-60 dollars a week, that’s very cheap camping ! You need to start heading north, we’re having a heat wave in the Midwest - 12 in Waukee, Ia right now. Stay Safe !

Was that Maya sitting on your lap? Never thought she would be a lap puppy 😂 Too cute! The one time we stayed in New Mexico in Oct. we found out that that is the migrating season for Tarantulas. Um I am with spiders the way Joel is with heights. 😢

If you are going to go from park to park in NM that is a really good deal. Texas State Park Pass isn't that good. They do look really nice. Baby RVers. LOL! No checking for skid marks. Glad that Maya enjoyed all the hiking. We always enjoyed camping in NM.

From what we were told alot of the people that stay in the parks go back to back to back all year all. They can stay up to 14 days and there are first come fist serve sections, but those do not have water or power, & would be free with the pass. It was interesting to see the parade come in about 5 PM looking for open sites. New Mexico is a beautiful state! Thanks- Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya

Ive heard New Mexico is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Question: What so you so with Mia when you go out exploring? Our lab loves to frequent dog parks but they are hard to find on Florida! Otherwise she stays in the RV if we are not gone over two hours. What are your thoughts?

We were so surprised and impressed with New Mexico!! Great question- So we have learned to take Maya for a walk in the morning and she is good for for 6-8 hours - but we like to do 4-6 to be safe - Thanks- Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
