I’ve always deducted major expenses each month such as payroll, an average of normal expenses, and then transferred 20% Of profits. I’ve never been short. However we don’t have state taxes. My cpa says an easy way is to transfer 10 % of All of your revenue.

Keith, have you ever considered the benefits of setting up a family trust (non-profit organization)? Use the trust to hold the assets and pay the family bills. Use the corporation for commerce, limiting liability and building credit. Send the profits to the trust. Pay yourself $1000 per month and any amounts extra owing send to an account payable to pay or loan to yourself in the future or just send all the money to a whole life insurance policy. (Infinite Banking, look it up bud)

Couple things I learned opening my accounts. Watch your fees. Banks love nickel and diming you. Especially transferring from saving accounts. They also let me open a business account but not a business credit card because our company didn't have enough history at the time apparently. Thanks for the tips, Keith!

Keith, great to hear ynab getting a mention. As I was watching, I was thinking Keith is using all of the accounts to compartmentalise his budget. I used to too, until I was introduced to ynab 😅 Great advice to budget. Ynab or any other accounting/budgeting type software, will save you the time of having all of those accounts and having to administer them all. UK viewer managing my own Garden Maintenance business. I can relate to and am regularly inspired by your faith, drive, and values. Great work Keith.
