I have been enjoying Draco since I first found out about it and Mike Patey. I am looking forward to enjoying more and whats more, I am looking forward to meeting the Patey Brothers since they are near me; we have MANY things in common and they, as well as you Cory, have inspired me to venture into areas I have only gave passing thoughts to. I also want to add that I appreciate all you guys do to promote aviation "for the little guy's/gal's" who think aviation is only a dream for others to live out. I too was one of those people for many years and then a good opportunity (after having pursued it) presented itself to me and I began my flight training with Gyro Plane in Spanish Fork, but then the company took my deposit on a Gyro Plane (over 30K) and used it to move the company to Florida when I had only 1 hr left to finish the minimum of 20 hrs, now I'm stuck with no plane to train with and having one heck of a time getting my deposit back (which was part of the contract). It's folks like that that give aviation a bad name. However, I chose to make lemonade out of lemons and as a result of what happened to me, I have decided to create a organization to help others achieve their goal to obtaining their flight credentials and peruse their dream of owning and flying their own aircraft, the bigger part of which will be used for rehabilitation for showing folks there is better pursuits in life than sitting in front of a TV playing video games and using drugs or other things that are non productive for a prosperous life. So, if you really want to start a fund raiser that will truly benefit people in a positive way, instead of wasting time & money on organizations with self serving agenda's, then contact me and perhaps we can work together and the "Flying Cowboy's" can begin to promote Aviation in a way that will take the world by storm. After my experience I have been left without the means to even finish my flight training and peruse my goal as a CFI to help others, so I need to complete my end so I can move forward with helping others in a positive manner. Any assistance in that area is very much appreciated. If your interested or you know others who might be and are willing to assist with a few shekels to get the ball rolling, then please contact me and lets get to work. THE SEASON IS PRESENTLY UPON US, lets take advantage of this pandemic and use to our favor instead of our demise. The sky is no longer the limit my friend, lets get out of the box and fly beyond the boundaries that have defined so may of our lives. Love you guys and Thank You. P.S. I will resubscribe to your channel if that will help you make contact with me.....not sure how that will work, if at all, but I don't feel comfortable with posting my email out here in the public.

Hi Cory, I'm lovin' your vids. Am amazed at seeing what Draco can do in the dense Sea Level air @ Valdez. And WOW was that a 40 foot roll out? Am wondering if it could go straight into a loop and land again!? And 80-degree Bank turns? What penetration! And Draco doesn't even flinch! Not a hint of stall. If anybody makes a "Draco Aircraft Company" of Spanish Fork, I want a job! And after decades I am getting new log book entries. Yes, I'm taking flying lessons again thanks to The Flying Cowboys. I won’t speculate on the PC-6’s descent other than to remark again that it was impressive to watch. All the best to you Thomas.

@gmcjetpilot
@gmcjetpilot 5 жыл бұрын
@@MrJaiimez I know my limits and can fly at edge of envelope as well. However when you start talking about nobody knows their limits more than Mike, that shows a lack of understanding. (Continue) Mike is great, no doubt. Mistakes or circumstances beyond any Pilot's control can happen. Many great pilot's have accidents. I don't want this to be an ego thing. Mike is "a stud...back to work". Flying very low at the extream edge of the envelope is high risk flying with virtually no margin of safety. That is a factual comment. Engine failure at LOW height above ground, LOW airspeed at critical angle of attack could cause a serious accident. The reason Drago does not stall at high angle of attack in part is the massive thrust. That thrust goes to zero or even drag the angle of attack must be reduced (nose down as much as it was nose up which we see is extream) and massive sink rate will happen. There will be little or no airspeed or energy to flare if close to ground. It will hit hard. Losing power close to ground is bad for any pilot or plane. But normal TO you have reserve airspeed, at or above best glide, not near stall. The exception is Vx short field climb for obstacle. And this has more risk. Mike could fly slightly faster and higher and give himself some extra cushion. It would still be impressive. Drago is flying on vectored thrust which augments wing lift. Indeed Mike is flying at an extream corner of envelope in an extream airplane. Loss of power in Drago doing MAX performance TO and climb is more critical than a regular airplane. Hope he worked out min safe altitude and does his demo's higher up, so he has time to recover from loss of power.

we already new Draco was going to win cause he had a pilates porter as a competitor that type of plane is a no contest for Draco plus all those other bush planes could not get up fast enough underpowered.

Draco was purpose built as a toy, the other planes are working airplanes. There’s a big difference. The thing I noticed was the working pilots hit the mark every time whereas Patey missed the mark every time. Just my observation.

Orright, I get it, but is there a practical use for planes of Mike Patey's ilk? I mean apart from competition - like aerial photography ...? Man he is so impressive, especially after seeing his mods to this plane (previous video) - they just work, AND there is more to come - beefed up landing gear, etc!
