Not DESIGNED by Hugo Boss, some of the uniforms just happened to be MANUFACTURED in some Hugo Boss factories. This was before Hugo Boss were a big time fashion house.

Slight correction needed here, Mary. Tommy Hilfiger wasn't born until 1951, and had nothing to do with the Nazi's. I think you're getting confused with Hugo Boss.

As a history buff, I loved this movie. To this day, there is still missing gold and missing art. Not all the mines were marked. And, as you saw in the movie, even when they found a mine, they would seal off the areas where the art was hidden.

Bill Murry struggling at the Obstacle course is a throwback to the comedy film "Stripes." Should put that on Mary's older films list. :) I'd add "Kelly's Heroes" to that list too, and "The Great Escape" Suspect both influenced Clooney a bit in this.

Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss had to produce the uniforms for the Wehrmacht and the SS but they didn´t designed them. That was part of insitutes like the "Reichszeugmeisterei" - sorry but i can´t translate that xD. These institutes designed the uniforms and assigned the licenses to companies like Hugo Boss.

Okay, John Wayne was internationally known at the time. Early film that was excellent: Stage Coach Later films well worth your time: The Shootist, True Grit He did a ton of war movies and you can google John Wayne's Best War movies. My favorite is "The Longest Day" but he was far from the only star in the stunning film. He had far more charisma than he did range of acting but the man he played was who people went to see in the box office. And I wouldn't change any part of John Wayne to "improve" on that view.

Interesting fact but the Bavarian royal family were anti-Nazi. At the time they visited Bavaria Crown Prince Rupprecht was on the run in Italy while his wife and children were imprisoned by the Nazis (they were eventually liberated by American soldiers.) So... it was basically a case of stolen art in a stolen castle.
