The Most Beautiful Indian Village? (Khonoma Eco Village)

I found the most beautiful village in India called Khonoma Eco Village - India's first green village. See for yourself how stunning, clean, and serene this Indian village is. It's a paradise surrounded by lush green mountains, rolling clouds, and cute terraced farms.
We try the village food available at a small stall at the village entrance. Nothing fancy, just chai, Maggi, Wai Wai, and Galho - a Nagamese traditional meal of rice porridge with vegetables and meat.
Then we go for a tour of the majestic village in the North East Indian hills.
Sustainability and green living is encouraged in this Indian village which is touted as the first green village of India.
Its also a very clean village adhering to the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign.

@HD HDB try to know the matter fully first and then comment because little knowledge is too dangerous. When the North Eastern people say that they hate bengalis they don't mean bengalis from west bengal but bengali muslims from Bangladesh. Hope i could clear the point. No negative feelings towards you, may God bless you my son.

Chennai has huge chunk of North East Indians from all the seven states who are living here for their education. I have interacted with few of them who study in my college. They are all so nice and are all environment conscious. They don't even throw paper after eating samosa on the road. They carefully look for dustbin and then thrash it. While this may be observed in other parts of India too, I noticed it from all the North East Indians with whom I have interacted.

Thank you Karl for visiting Khonoma and showing this unknown part of India to the world. Btw a historical fact about this village. Khonoma was a sovereign village like any other villages in Naga hills. They were never under the rule of any Indian kingdom. The village came into contact with India only when British merged it with British India colony in the early 20th century. This region got independence from British one day before India's independence. Then in the late 50s, this region was invaded by Indian forces under the leadership of Nehru. The entire village of Khonoma was destroyed and burnt down to ashes in the late 50s by Indian troops(which they won't tell to Indian tourists because it's uncomfortable). You can see it being written in one of the monoliths erected in the memory of those who lost their lives in this attack by Indian troops. Things have changed now and it's very difficult for the native people to even think about the dark years of 50s and 60s when they were invaded by Indian troops. Just sharing a fact, nothing against my dear Indian brothers. Peace!! Jai Hind!

Dzuko Valley (border Nagaland and Manipur) 2. Loktak Lake - World's only floating clean lake) 3. Khoupum Cave /Water Fall 4. Zeilad 5. Shirui Peaks (There is also Shirui Festival ) 6. There are lots of untouched places. Due to time constraints most of the tourists visited only valley (Imphal) . More exotic and beautiful places lies in the hills which is 40-50 kms away from the capital. The road conditions also not good. If you have guts and passion you can enjoy the scenic beauty.

I feel like places like North- East India, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, J & K are so beautiful and definitely more clean. I think the rest of india should be like this. The main cities are so dirty, polluted and overcrowded. Especially places like Mumbai and Delhi. We definitely need rubbish bins in public places, otherwise people just throw their trash everywhere.

Cool video. I grew up with semi-feral chickens running wild in our large yard. It was a pleasure to see how their behavior changed over the seasons. It was also fun to run and catch them and then pet them.I eventually made one a pet and trained it to jump up on my arm. I am surprised you didn't pick one up to pet! The chickens I grew up looked like the ones in your video here, smallish jungle fowl. There were so many chickens in your video it made me wonder if they belonged to anyone or were more or less just village chickens living off of what they could find to eat and handouts from the villagers.
