Once again, we find ourselves in love with a location! Yesterday, we arrived at Gili T with some major bumps in the road, but it was all worth it. Our new resort is incredible; the sunset is probably the prettiest I have ever seen.
This morning, we walked out our door and onto the beach to snorkel. Joel and I needed to try out some of the new gear we bought the other day, and unfortunately, we are still having issues with our masks. At this point, I am not sure what to do. They keep fogging, and mine won't seal. Joel purchased some silicone to put around the masks, and that didn't help me, but it helped him.
As soon as we got in the water, we saw a turtle! These creatures never disappoint. There is something about them that is magical.
That is where the fun ended because we didn't see anything else, and I continued to fight with my mask. So, we decided to explore the island.
We decided not to rent bikes because many roads are covered in deep sand. We laughed because we saw so many people pushing their bikes through these areas. We also decided against the bikes because there weren't any that River could ride.
We enjoyed walking around the island and seeing the colorful signs, bars, and restaurants. Gili T has so much character and flare.
After dinner and catching an incredible timelapse of the sunset, we set out to search for marine animals in the tidepools in the dark.
