actually kabal had the advantage over kenshi, largely due to kenshi having a big crouching hitbox

In Mortal Kombat 9, Kenshi had a move, that was a 0 on block armored launcher. Go figure. Also, Kenshi had only one bad matchup. And it was Kabal. (4/6) He still beats everybody else with relative ease, exclusions are Freddy (5/5), because he was the best full-screen zoner in MK9, and Smoke (5/5), because he is an antizoner.

Lao. As a dedicated Kenshi main, I would 1000x rather fight kabal than fight a good Lao. His mobility and jailing teleport 3 mean no reversals. No armor, no EX RK. That matchup is awful.

I never played Mk9 but always heard Kitana was a bad match up for him. How is his match-up against her?

Kenshi vs Kitana was 6/4 in Kenshi's favour. Hitboxes on his moves beat Kitana's air mobility, she is not able to reach him in neutral, and Kitana had very good neutral, her normals were insane, not against Kenshi tho, and not even her air fans save her.

@@cryptable_ correct on all counts. You had a couple good kitana's back in the day who could make it work, Mr. Mileena iirc, but they all agreed it was an uphill fight at best.

Kenshi is fire AF, but I’m curious if the spirit charge can be blocked and responded quickly with Sub Zero’s slide or Reptile’s slide. And it might also be dodged with Raiden’s teleport which is really fast. I’m testing it.

Update: it worked with all of them. Needs practice but it’s not impossible. Raiden’s teleport is the best for it.

I never played kenshi in MK9 but really loved to play him in MKX. Never realized he was bad then again, I am also just a casual scrub. Also Takeda was really great can't believe they haven't brought him back.

Kenshi was not bad in MKX, but there was a pro who kept crying. Saying things like "I won't play this game anymore unless they buff him" even though Kenshi was still good. Players were winning with much weaker characters than him, but that player was used to the broken MK9 Kenshi

I have never played MK9 but hearing that sound he makes when he meterburns a special for even about 5 min allready annoys me so much. So playing against him with MK9's netcode sounds like actual torture it would drive me insane

yo great vid, but, Kenshi had losing match ups, Kabal was hes worst MU by far, then Cyrax, then Kung Lao, and also Smoke would be a 5-5 or 6-4 to smoke, since he cant reflect the smoke bomb and has a a bigger hitbox, so smoke can pressure him better.
