Between you and me, I really have no love for the new Great Katanas. The only one I really enjoyed was the Rakshasa's Great Katana.

Ya, thorns sorcery from the base game was weak to say the least. Especially after they nerfed the Albinauric Staff in patch 1.04

@@kurrupoppo6937 That's not necessarily true. For example, has the player leveled vigor? Have they got decent defenses? And even with high damage, how reliably can you pull off these one shots? I mean the thorn sorceries are SLOW, even with max cast speed, so you're definitely gonna have a hard time hitting a half decent player who's paying attention. I'm genuinely interested if you've got some galaxy brain tactics or build that brings out their true power, but if you're relying on your opponent's low health and inexperience, that's not power.

@@richardhandcock it's all about just getting the timing down, if you can bait them into the first animation of briars of sin they won't survive the full 3. It's honestly not that hard. 80 faith and two staff of guilty. Magic scorpion charm, magic shrouding cracked tear. The alberich set obviously. Use golden vow and howl of shabriri. You just have to bait. I love it when it can get a whole squad with one full animation lol.

Staff of Guilty will affect the Sorcery damage but not the Bleed build-up nor the Blood loss effect which is the potent component about this build.

I'm trying to use this strat right now, I know I sound stupid but how do you hit him with Impenetrabable Thorns in Phase 2 when he's focusing you hard then splitting focus between you, your summon, and mimic.

Honestly use the heaviest armour you have and use the verdigris discus and iron jar aromatic it'll make it alot easier but its still hard but that's how I beat mine

The spell causes bloodloss, the spell is power tied to a staff, when you raise arcane with an arcane weapon, it unlocks the hidden bleed build up and increases it

I believe I was at level 185 during the footage, but you can get this build running much earlier.

I don't think there is a way around it, you do need to make this jump to progress

It has to be a running jump.

As our friend said here, it has to be running + jump. perhaps also take off your entire gear and you will feel a lot lighter.

Here is a way to jump from a standing position without having to run (using a controller): Jump in place, then immediately hold down the run button (for XBox/PC, it's A, then hold down B). Next, push the stick forward and jump while still holding down B. If you do it correctly, you will perform a jump as if you were running.

This build like any Bleed build is weak against status effect immune enemies like the Flower Boss. I did beat it though by aiming at the flower head because the Boss takes more damage that way.

@@IsThatKris ok now I have a problem with the last boss.......the guy don't take dmg when I'm behind him at all.....when I have npcs n he neg more dmg from the front n side at about 50%....now when my clone killed him it didn't fking count.......now wtf can I do.......u tell me ok I'm using a thorn build which can kill him really quit IF he does take dmg AT ALL

It's really a fashion choice, but Radahn's Greaves or the Scaled Greaves might be good replacements.

Firstly, the Bloodsucking Tear enhances your attack power, which impacts the base damage of Impenetrable Thorns but not its bleed build-up or the blood loss effect-the most potent aspect of this build. Secondly, the Bloodsucking Tear will quickly deplete your HP while active. Coupled with the health loss from using Impenetrable Thorns, this creates a challenging situation to manage for minimal benefit.

You should be able to buy all the smithing stones of both kind except the 10s, go get the bell bearings in the base game, spend a couple million on stones and you'll upgrade anything you want to try out to +24 or +9 before you even swing it.

You can duplicate remembrances at the walking masoleums and there are a few coffins around like the finger ruins that also dupe them

I have to say im getting pretty annoyed by those one sided comments re thorns "let's nerf it". Yes, against bosses it's incredibly strong. But for the overall playthrough / overland / world exploration its actually pretty dull. My night comet build was way faster for those activities. People watch boss videos with full round of buffs and scream "nerf it" 😮😅

Some people struggle with the endgame boss. This could come in handy
