The way the online protagonist has been waging a decade long criminal war against every single element of Los Santos using everything from murder, domestic terrorism, torture, Intimidation, blackmail while keeping a straight face and not thinking about anything besides their personal financial gain, no matter how small that is definitely deserves a mention.

It is also worth noting that Trevor, for all of his faults, will never betray a friend. ABUSE a friend, absolutely, but if he likes you, he will die for you without a second thought. He demonstrates genuine love and affection for Micheal (before being betrayed), Micheal's family, Patricia, Franklin, Brad, and even Lemar. Micheal is worse than Trevor because he has proven himself perfectly willing to put a bullet in your back without remorse. THAT is someone that you should fear in real life - the traitor.

The most brutal protagonist, down right fucked up in the head, hands down has to be *Toni Cipriani.* Trevor is just a loud mouth compared to Toni, Toni shows less mercy and was too sadistic. The fact that: •He decides to do hits for his mom to please her •Chases down Giovanni Casa in a sawmill, hacks him to death with a fire axe and delivers his chopped corpse back to his own deli, disguised as meat for cooking. • Kills Avery Carrington, kidnaps his body, and gives it to Donald Love who eat his remains. • And last but surely not least, he Blew up the entire Fort Staunton, potentialy killing thousands of people just to take out some Forelli’s, just for $5000. For a Grand Theft Auto protagonist, this was plain evil. Surely if this happened in real life Toni would be a top ten most wanted fugitives.

Lets also not forget that CJ also buried a man alive in cement, While that man was also likely covered in his and many other's fecal and urinary waste. What was this man's horrible crime against CJ? Catcalling his sister... CJ in Deconstruction is legitimately a psychopath.

I think CJ suffered from the old style of Rockstar clashing with the new they we're slowly transitioning into. Because of those very different styles; one being "kill everything and have fun!" And the other being "take this stuff seriously, it's pretty intense" it makes him very inconsistent and that's a huge reason I never liked him much as I don't really have a 100% true character to like

The GTA Online protagonist literally has an arsenal bigger than half the militaries in Europe and never speaks a word while committing mass murder for 10+ years straight, growing one of the largest criminal empires in the gta universe, and continues to pull scores, they body every other gta protagonist and it’s not even a question

I think you underestimated Niko quite a bit. He also suffers from CJ's inconsistent writing sometimes, like when he disposed of a woman who was murdered by his abusive husband, selled the corpses of 2 guys who where shot by Elizabeta, killed who knows how many cops during drug missions and the Bank Score... Not to mention he blew up a massive car garage in Bohan which probably killed many people passing by.

Michael's worst acts are betraying Trevor and Brad, and helping Franklin kill Trevor in that ending. It makes him easily the least likable of the three.

Trevor is insane, but you can see he is not just insane for that sake of bing insane. He was a tortured person from the very beginning and clearly defending himself from the world he considers evil. Toni however is just a mafia guy with some mommy issues to prove himself who committed an act of domestic terrorism some middle eastern terrorist groups would consider too much, and just sot he would settle a mafia fight. Say what you want about Trevor, but he wound not harm on that level, Toni basically ended 1000s of families then and there. I would also put CJ more on top, but I think one problem with him is the game never really establishes his baseline behavior, there is too mooch difference in cutscenes and different missions with him to accurately see his behavior.

For CJ I feel like the riots should also be included. Throughout the game its obvious that in helping Tenpenny, he is aiding in him being acquitted of his charges. Keeping Sweet alive cost the lives of hundreds if not thousands of innocent lives in the Los Santos Riots. Not sure if it counts, though, or if it was just ignorance on his part.

I think vast majority of in missions kills aren't canon just as well as free roam kills arent. But there are some huge shootouts that seems to be canon overall - last Vice City mission probably ended in significant life loss, Tony Cipriani put 9/11 to shame with his widespread bombing, last GTA V mission - the part in the melting plant was meant to end up in ridiculous number of killed people, and so on. But i think when we look at grove street violence we can assume most shooting would end up in more people getting injured than killed, and most time we go to assassinate someone we can assume that at best canonicaly a random bodyguard or two might get unlucky enough to get killed in the process or injured.

i feel like you underestimated cj's psychopathic behaviours. here are some other messed up things cj has voluntarily done: 1. destroying an entire construction site and burying a man alive in that site just because some construction workers insukted kendl 2. tying up johnny sindacco in front of a car and dangerously driving it and causing johnny to be hospitalized. after that paying a visit to him again to scare him to death 3. putting illegal stuff inside of a da's car and calling the cops (yes, cj did it voluntarily, cutscene shows that he happily accepted doing it) 4. killing all the soldiers in area 69 and stealing a 60 million dollar project without any clear motivations 5. killing large amount of swat and lspd members 6. intentionally ruining madd dogg's life and after regretting it, starting to intentionally ruin his old friend og loc's life (og loc didn't betray cj or sweet by the way) cj might not be number 1 for this list, but he is definitely in top 3

GTA Online Protagonist takes the win here. If we go by the typical online player, theyre Easily responible for hundreds (if not thousands) of deaths of criminals, cops, and innocent bystanders alike and untold millions worth of property damages. Took part in every major heist/score since the Union Depository job in story mode. Carved a massive criminal empire through multiple lucrative businesses (both legitimate and illegitimate) making a fortune Has enough weapons and ammunition, alongside literal military vehicles (land, sea, and air) and a literal orbital canon.. And to top it all off, they have a contact who with just a few hundred dollars could literal get any police attention off them....

I think when looking at brutality of a person, it’s important to analyse the consequences of words, or in other words, the effects of non-violent actions. I think that most of the 3D era protagonists are the most brutal, with Niko slightly behind them, with Trevor and Johnny coming close. However my pick for the singular most brutal protagonist is Tommy. You’re hard on CJ, that’s fine, but I’m hard on Tommy. Let’s start with the worse part - Tommy has a massive cocaine empire. That alone would ruin many lives. Tommy is referred in the GTA community as a man of honour. There’s literally nothing honourable about what he does. Sure Tommy sought to build a legitimate business empire but it was mostly illegal and he had no problem killing rivals, even those who never wronged him. That goes for every protagonist, I guess. Tommy also has no qualms about killing innocent people. Tommy has no problem abandoning his best friend for dead in the middle of the desert after several years of loyalty, especially considering how Ken stood by Tommy. Yeah, it’s respectable that he paid for his rehab but it was a hollow act of kindness, because Tommy guaranteed that Ken would relapse by leaving him with no emotional support, considering him as a burden rather than a friend. I can see that perhaps what happened with Sonny and Lance’s openly betraying him likely hardened him, but abandoning Ken like that was as good as killing him. I would even classify it as a betrayal, because Ken was literally a part of Tommy’s organisation for years. Tommy might be naive, but he’s also quite literally devoid of empathy for others and that’s what I dislike most about him. At least Toni actually displayed concern over Maria getting beaten. When Lance got beaten by a guy’s men for trying to get revenge for his brother’s death all Tommy did was complain and did not see the situation from Lance’s perspective, despite Lance trying to reason with him. He didn’t say anything like “Keep it together, we’ll take revenge, and take over, as partners.” No. All that Tommy cared about is his operation alone. I even dare say he’s the most evil protagonist. I also disagree that Johnny is more brutal than Niko. Niko was made this way due to his war experience. The executions Niko preforms are also much more calculated and purposefully brutal. CJ is ruthless when called for, like any gangster is. He did what he did which was very ruthless yes, to earn the respect of his friends and family. Trevor is brutal, no doubt about that. But like Niko and Johnny, he’s also very loyal to those he cares about and has way more empathy than Toni, Claude and Tommy. Trevor is not a psychopath, he’s a sociopath yes, but he’s much more capable of empathy. Tommy, Toni and Claude are more closer to actual psychopaths (even if Toni does have great affection for his mother and genuinely respects Salvatore and goes out of his way to protect several of his employers with all of his endurance.)

I cannot believe the mental gymnastics that goes on to not put Trevor at the top. He has two modes: Them, for killing and Us, for abusing. All of the other characters are motivated by greed, Trevor is motivated by his sadism. The most cruel, brutish choice is always the A option, and there is no B. He infantizes Tracy who is an adult, and insults Jimmy in the only interaction in the mainline story. Ron and Wade are terrorized. Wade's cousin is mentally tortured until he and his wife break and Trevor obvs kills them both. He can abuse anyone he wants, but when Frankin laughs at him tripping over a fence, he is moments away from killing him. Death rides a Canis Bohdi.

I hate to do this but i HAVE TO because of Niko.... The video title is "The most Brutal GTA Protagonist".... ONLY BECAUSE OF NIKO I have to state that Niko was probably the most BRUTAL protagonist in GTA. This is based on his life BEFORE GTA4... I mean , if you go with narrative, then he not only killed people in en masse while in Europe. He was also a human trafficker... I mean... His time in Liberty City was one of revenge and self hatred. He also never had the whole "Gonna Take Over" mindset that almost every other protagonist has had. So , his mass murdering intentions were as minimal as could be. Also being a psychopath is scary but that doesn't make them brutal. Trevor is a crazy psychopath, Niko is sane. I mean if you have 2 people, 1 who has always been violent and destructive and the other who seems to be as normal as "most" people are. If they both were to somehow commit the same crimes on the same people ( imagination), who would be considered brutal between them? The crazy violent guy , who is literally crazy , will be treated fairer in the court system comparably. I could go on but I'm going to stop here. So I think that for your video, perhaps "The Most Brutal GTA Protagonist In Game"... then I would absolutely agree that Tony is a piece of shit who had the mafia upbringing.
