The suffering theme continues with yet another crazy region, but this one might have become my favorite of all time...

question about movement tech: Almost immediately after you initiate a slide you can do a pounce (or whatever it's called). You also don't need to roll over a few times before you can jump high enough to continue rolling. I don't get how you do this. I have to be in the middle of a slide before I can do a pounce and say, I start rolling afterwards, I eed to hear those 3/4x bumping before I can jump high enough to not just land on my belly (in RW ofc). How do you do this? Does your pc need performance, is it some movement tech?

@@user-uz8hr6th4g Simplified moveset is a mod that let's you tweak the movement system a bit more to your liking, and generally it is used to make those timings you mentioned easier to deal with, so that's the reason you see me do these moves without having to worry about the timing limitations :)

i love how the layout of the place really screams "you aren't meant to be here, this was not designed for living things." a lot of modded regions feel like you're on a guided tour of the region or something, but this one is ironically really natural feeling. also, what insane noodlefly got through all of that in the crucible just to lay an egg in there?

I first thought it was some horrific torture device, to convince those against ascension that the cycle is indeed bad. And how else to demonstrate it than to make them die in progressively more painful and gorey ways? Then someone I talked to went "What if it's just an obstacle course for entertainment?" And now I think that's hilarious. Ninja warrior but for people who can't die

"it is not a place of honour" from Moon at the end makes me think of the potential message left at a planned nuclear waste containment site. Very striking narratively, to fit those absolutely gorgeous visuals. Makes me wonder what the Ancients used it for - manufacturing weapons, maybe? That, and it outputs into Industrial Complex/Side House, where the religious bone masks were made, and into Shaded CITADEL, near the Industrial gate. Makes me so so curious about the additions to lore/worldbuilding! I've never seen such a complex and animated region before, the sense of scale is AMAZING!! I love how multiple pipes lead to one giant shelter and how you really feel like a little critter slinking thru the pipes. The soundtrack had me bopping 😂 thanks for showcasing this mod, it was a super enjoyable video :)

This region is amazing and a little crazy! The gates and shelters look absolutely stunning! The whole region itself has this little sci-fi feeling to it and it makes this region a 10/10. Thanks for covering it Edit: Also, music slaps!

Notice how the strange low gravity room at the start (4:55) seems to be damaged. the area with the affects is directly below the gaping hole in the roof, gives the impression that the region contains so much power that being broken messes with physics itself, to me (the one who knows little about physics) atleast. The entire region has a completely different feel to the rest of the game, not in the way that it’s out of place but in the way that it’s very evident (more so than even other regions) that the little slugcat *absolutely* should not be here. This place was in no way ever meant to be an environment for life, there’s even less vegetation and natural grime compared to other regions as if not even seeds or pollinators to help the plant life to grow can survive. The creator of this region looked the people calling rain world a horror game and decided it wasn’t enough.

Imagine if like getting too cold in the frost you could get too hot in this place. Effectively enables starvation mode, and if you stay too long in the heat you die. Certain areas you gotta be quick to get through or you'll get exhausted before you overheat. Really cool mod region though, the detailing looks vanilla level, and i don't think i've ever seen moving setpieces like that. (Save stuff like the karma-gates. Wonder why there aren't more moving things around actually? To create a world-ambiance of dysfunction maybe? 🤔) Very good stuff in any case.

Actually thinking about it, it makes sense nothing is active in the world; the ancients intentionally shut _everything_ down before they collectively committed ascension. everything save the iterators.

_Oh my sweet god…_ This region just spells *“VIOLENCE”* all over! It’s like an amalgamation of DOOM, Super Meat Boy, Bloody Bunny, and a bit of Howling Rift, all coalesced into one, super dark, sadistic, gruesome, hellish region! It makes Rubicon look like mere child’s play, compared to it!

12:16 honestly quite incredible This region looks insanely cool, shame I don't think I have enough grasp on the movement tech to even *try* something like this, nor the patience honestly. Music's good, the visuals are cool, the new mechanics are neat, looks really well done all around. And I love that the Shelters are doing that late-game downpour thing where the whole room is now a shelter (in downpour it's largely because "the fucking structure fell apart"), and having multiple ways in / out of a shelter is also neat! ALso, I love, LOVE, the moving structures. The sound / impact of said structures also, just, good. Poor lil slugcat getting squished :( God, the music that plays when you get into Crucible. *chef kiss*

5:56 *collapsed* top of wall vibes with this one, honestly. A lot of the region leading up to Crucible have collapsed-but-functional Iterator vibes. Also, you said Crucible was like hell, you’re wrong, this looks way worse than Rubicon. Overall awesome region, I almost wish there was more of a reason to visit…

holy crap. the region makers have really made some nightmarish stuff as of recent! honestly, with these incredible regions and overpowered slugcats, it feels like the creatures have been a little ignored. suppose we are not in dark souls though, and creature-specific themes wouldn't be of use for any standard beast.

My brother walked in on me playing this region and he asked me my Metacritic review of the region? So since I was still traumatized I responded "83" but I think it's closer to a 92 in retrospect mmaybe a 95 even

Shortly after this we also had a short fight over if the Industrial Complex exit was "liver" colored, or "spleen" colored. So as you can see our rating system is very reliable
