Love the singles content! I've despised singles for years until now all of a sudden I'm addicted to it as much as doubles.

Thanks again guy's. It's funny 6 months ago I was having some trouble with slice returns but lately I've been really utilizing the spin with top spin without driving into the net. I like the point about the angled shot Ben made and using your spin and not having to generate all the power. I will try and add that in.

Two singles questions I'd love to get your take on: 1) What is your take on running around your forehand as opposed to hitting backhand baseline drives in singles? Seems like some guys like Tyler Loong for example run around their forehand for every baseline drive in singles, and some guys do it less often. Ben seems to do it effectively here but I wonder whether the risk (that the opponent plays a volley crosscourt and you are out of position) outweighs the benefit or vice versa? Or would you say it depends on the player (ie how good their forehand is & how fast they can get back into position)? 2) Do you see the "cat and mouse" game, ie more drop shots & dinking, becoming more prevalent in the singles game as more people transition into playing singles and the game evolves? Again, like the question above, you see some guys like Ben trying to get into the cat and mouse game on a super high percentage of the singles points they play, whereas others like Rafa Hewett are never hitting drops/dinks. Do you think that type of gameplay is where singles is headed? Or again a player by player thing?

Thanks for the tip of " if youre getting passed a lot" I do find my self getting passed a bunch on my run in. Ill hit a decent return run up split at or close to kitchen and ball is already flying past so maybe I need to stop shorter and split.

Question for you guys- on return of serve is it a good strategy to return deep to the middle in an effort to take away the servers angles??? Thanks a bunch!

Singles is a whole different game, I have found. You need to be much more selective in approaching the net. If your shot doesn’t put pressure on your opponent and reduce his return options, it’s easy to get passed.

The key to winning is finding the tape as much as possible.
