Hi guys! Do you think Ouino looks like something you would use (let's imagine it had the language you were learning)?

If any Ouino staff are reading this comment, I really appreciate the one-off purchase option. Now a days, especially with software, the subscription model is dominant and it is really greedy imo.

We usually get good comments about it, but we appreciate constructive criticism, it really helps us improve over time. Our program offers a lot of content, and a lot of freedom, and with that comes a bit of a learning curve on how to get the most from it for your specific level and learning style. The program offers a lot, and something that is valuable to one person may not be as valuable to another. On the flip side, a beginner will need to use the main lessons of the program for a while before they can truly benefit from those exercises. "It's pretty 90s" SOLD Really, this sounds like exactly the program I've been looking for. Kinda relieved it's only 4 similar languages, too. When I see a program with piles of languages, it's hard for me to believe they took their time and considered the best way to present each one, which always leaves me wondering if there might be a better way for me to learn. Kinda existential, may or may not be justified, but it does get in the way for me. Anyways, I'm'a check it out. Thanks for reviewing it!

I love your videos, they're so honest and direct to the point. I've never heard about Ouino languages. They look awesome but it's a pity there are only 4 languages available (I guess this makes sense cause they seem so comprehensive) Thanks for the review. Also, LOL at Duolingo threats ahhahahaha

I love Ouino. It's like a digital version of a textbook - with audio, pictures, games, etc. If you are serious about learning a language, Ouino won't let you down because it is not a game that teaches you the language passively by just matching images.

I bought my program 2 years ago, and they were extremely friendly and helpful! I wanted to install the program on all my devices, including my kindle (my electronic of choice while traveling around Mexico) and they walked me through it! The value is excellent! I like having a program that is offline and MINE, and for a reasonable price! I agree that it is a bit overwhelming... I should be fluent in Spanish by now, but that is user error (laziness)...

I asked a technical question to ouino about their software and they responded with ing five minutes, at night, on the weekend, haven’t tried the software yet but their support is outstanding!

Excellent review. I'm not bothered about outdated graphics, and you told us to look for those extra features that are not as easy to find. I think I might consider buying it for German.

It's an excellent platform in my opinion, very comprehensive, it forces you to pay attention to grammar, and overall it adopts a serious and realistic approach to language learning.

I've never even heard of Ouino outside of this review, but your description did make me interested enough to check them out. After poking around in their Spanish demo for a while I'm inclined to agree straight down the line with your thoughts about the interface, and I'm giving the product some consideration. Based solely on what I could see in the limited demo, I might be able to get my money's worth out of it even if I just used the verb studies and listening practice.

i was doubting between rocket languages and Ouino Languages...eventually i chose for Ouino Languages...Their lessons are pure quality and they dont get much publicity like the rest in the market...recommended if you are serious in studying a other language

It looks like old-school RPG videogame. Like Elder Scrolls, Baldur's Gate or something like that. The only difference is you're upgrading yourself instead of a fictional character.

As you have used both, Busuu and Ouino, which one would you prefer. For intermediates and beginners?

I hate the subscription model stuff. I much much prefer to buy and keep something, so I can use the resource along with books and immersion etc. without feeling like I should use the program almost exclusively to "get my money's worth". Plus you DOWNLOAD it. My issue with the "lifetime" account thing always was that if they go bankrupt six months later, there goes the "lifetime" account I paid for. I am also at the intermediate level and it actually feels/looks a bit basic to me from what you've shown here. I did start studying with books, movies and TV shows for French adults and am at that point where I understand enough to follow but not every single word and some of the grammar makes me go "ah, THAT'S how you say that" or "why the heck would you say it like that?" (or in the case a show or movie "What the heck did she just say?"). There seems to be so little out there for someone at my level. Other than dry B2/C1 test prep books which...eeeh...I wouldn't want to study with that unless I were to take the test which I would consider once this whole coronavirus thing is over because the last thing I'd want is to pay for a test and then have to take it wearing a mask and social distancing. I really appreciate your honesty. I'm over all these people claiming that they became fluent by studying just 30 minutes a day using this revolutionary method (which is often just stuff all of us do, but we aren't fluent yet so hmm...). I do two 25 Pomodoros of Russian and four of French every day (not including random youtube comments I end up writing or passive exposure like listening to music, audiobooks, watching shows/movies/youtube or reading for plain pleasure without bothering to write down anything). And I'm nowhere near "C1" yet...yet the person who did 30 minutes of flashcards for six months is....oookay.

I was interested in Ouino up until the point where you mentioned it did not have Japanese. Oh well, good video!

Three year old video I know, but I just started learning Portugese and finding this is a HUGE relief. I can't believe how the vast majority of language-learning tools expect you to just sus out grammar and sentence structure through osmosis without any way of learning more if you need a better explanation.

I'm loving your videos, you have convinced me to purchase the Ouino French Language Edition, would you recommend the "Complete Expanded Edition V3 on Amazon?

I'm currently using Ouino as my main resource for Spanish and, not to sound like a Mcdonald's ad, but I'm lovin' it. I'm a similar age to you and I can totally see how the graphics look 90's, but the graphics fade into the background of your attention when you're actually learning and so not a big deal imo. As someone who uses the program a couple of hours a day, I could certainly write a list of pet peeves. But overall, I'm impressed.

Ouino sounds exactly what I'm looking for. I just worry that I won't have enough time in the day to learn a language in a reasonable time.

Nothing kills me more when I find a method that I love that DOESN'T offer the language I want to learn >.< I would absolutely love it if Ouino offered Mandarin--and I say that without ever actually trying the program. It just looks amazing and I want to try it for Spanish, but god, I wouldn't waffle over it for a second if it offered Mandarin. Thanks for the review! I'm gonna try it for Spanish.

Hi. What do u think about learning a language through another a non-native language? For example, I use few resources for learning Spanish and Japanese, but they only have an English interface.

I've showed my mum this video. I reckon this is the perfect product for her, it's like Encarta but for language learning. I teach Japanese, the i teach Matt's method of MIA but I translate it and sorta dumb it down for the more normie language learner. It's still got the core principles, habit building, heaps of listening practice, consume material meant for natives, use anki, pitch accent, learn all the kanji etc. My mum swears by Duolingo so much she's like "remember to tell your students about duolingo they might like it" but like, now that she's seen this she's gonna switch from Duo to Ouino for her German, which means Ouino really got their money's worth when they let you review it cause they've just got a new customer.

Is this program even more comprehensive than the old, now public-domain Foreign Service Institute courses?

How the fuck does someone with 3.5 thousand subscribers have such a high production value? It feels like I'm watching someone with way more subscribers. Is this a second channel? Am I a dumbass? Excellent video again mate

I really miss the old school Rosetta Stone...I felt like I was more in control of my own learning, and it was much more nurturing of random tangents and hammering down the basics. The modern program feels like you're on auto pilot and it's trying to do all the work for you. I wonder if Ouino is similar in that way...just giving you texts with audio and pictures that you can click on, hear repeated and see a concise definition, which for me personally really helps with retention.

You mentioned the stories will take you to b2, but what about the rest? Does this dive into preterite? Subjunctive? Does this go beyond just being able to order food? I'm looking for a tool that doesn't treat me like a tourist

When you buy the lifetime access, are you buying only one language or when you buy that you can change in between languages?

If it had Portuguese I'd certainly consider it.

Do you think the time spent on Ouino is worth it versus other things you could be doing to learn a language?

Thanks for the review. Approximately what level can be obtained by using ouino? And what is the vocabulary size? I speak French, read and can watch videos etc, but definitely have room for improvement. I'd like to review and strengthen my grammar from A to Z up to a B2 level, broaden my vocabulary, especially with idiomatic expressions etc. I'm already working on the latter, learning new words from videos, but it is haphazard. Do you think that it could help me, or is there a better programme. What about Learn French With Vincent? Thanks, appreciate any advice.

Every time I hear "Ouino" I think "we know" and try to come up with a pun but I never can.

I'm sure this program could benefit some people but their German is a bit weird. For example, the sentence at 5:37 is missing an object (I would change it to "Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?").

5:00-5:30 - So, Tim Doner would breeze through their Spanish course more quickly than most people would, and come out speaking Spanish very well. He should use Ouino to acquire Spanish. :)
