The Daytona International Speedway has always been the World Center of Racing as well as the world center of controversy. Controversy and Daytona have always have been synonymous and there are plenty of memorable controversial moments for NASCAR. But what about the ones that people have been forgotten over time? Well there may be one that perfectly fits this. This is the most controversial Daytona race nobody remembers.

@@randomstuff-id8bs Well, I guess NASCAR thought Hamilton was the clear winner cuz he was ahead of Spencer when the caution light came out. Apparently at the time, it was a rule where if a car was ahead of another car right when the caution light comes out, that car is considered the leader. I think it still exists to this day🤔
@slpater1
@slpater1 Жыл бұрын
@@JustGenius2001 that is the rule today. Once they take the white flag its either whoever crosses the line first (checkers) OR if a caution occurs(wreckers) before they get back to the checkered flag the field is frozen when the caution occurs and they will use all means necessary and available to determine a winner. Hence the saying checkers or wreckers when they take the white flag

Spencer won 2 restrictor plate races in 1993 or 1994 in the McDonalds #27, you said he would never win in any of the 3 series' toward the end of your video

I think what Jaret actually meant to say was "he would never come close to winning a race in any of the 3 series ever after this race" instead of what he said. I think it was a mistake and he sorta glossed over it.

@@JustGenius2001 that tends to make sense I didn't think about i that way. I was just certain Jimmy won at Talladega and Daytona once a piece in that 27 and never was able to win in cup again, I'm actually not a hundred percent sure that he hasn't won in Busch and trucks, it would actually surprise me a little. Mr. Excitement was very talented.

I do not blame Spencer for pulling the power move and going into victory lane. The difference between him leading a lap to the flag falling is literally a second. But I wont lie, I was happy as a Hamilton fan and I sure do miss that son of a gun.

PR move. Whether he really thought he won or not. Guaranteed more TV time for the sponsor.

I'm suprised you didn't include this: "Hey, Jimmy... I hate to be the one to break this to you, but you are NOT the winner, bud"

Wow, Rick Crawford! Used to be my favorite. Seems like such a great guy. I haven’t heard any news from in a long time. Hopefully there’s nothing too damning.

The best part of yesterday's race was watching Travis Pastrana, a field filler, lead a lap because he was the last one to pit.
