Flavio has in fact been Alonso’s manager for years. So he’s both been in and around F1 and has reason to have lunch with him every once in a while. That ends my notes. Still an awesome video.

he's done a lot of buying and selling in F1. He also managed Supertec for several years which was an engine supplier to several teams

I think Flavio getting involved with Alpine F1 at this time bears similarities to when Ferdinand Piech took over Volkswagen. They were in dire straits at the time and he later said something along the lines of 'only a company in that kind of position would let someone like me in the door' . I wonder if it's the same with Flavio and Alpine.

I remember when I was in Year 9 at school we were practicing summaries for a section of our English Language GCSE, in which we were given a passage and had to summarise it in 250 words. The first time we did this, the passage our teacher gave us was an article on Briatore being banned in the wake of Crashgate. Of course, I knew exactly what the article was about, and some of my classmates were quite surprised when I told them that it had actually happened!

Wolff is and has been Ocon’s manager since he entered F1. It’s why everyone expected him to be raised to the Merc second seat for a few seasons. But you’re right about Flavio being Alonso’s omanager. I like to think Alonso has cleaned his act up quite a lot since 2007 at McLaren and then crashgate, then I’m reminded that Flavio has been his manager the whole time. He certainly acts far more mature than he used to. It’s why I’ll always be a Lewis fan, he always takes wins and losses like a champ. Imagine Verstappen giving the same congratulations to Hamilton had the roles been reversed at Abu Dhabi ‘21. Lewis is one of the few drivers I’d say who even had a chance of taking the highroad after that champ robbery.

8:42 frankly, the exact opposite should happen. The sport should open up the tech regs. Let the teams find the fastest way to get round a track, regardless of basically anything, so long as they can match the safety (and maybe size?) regs. Any engine, any tires, from any manufacturer, with any amount of driver aids or movable parts. Just let them go mad. Screaming V12s, alongside growling V8s, alongside silent electrics, cars with ground effect so powerful they can tear the tarmac, cars with 6 foot wide fans, and cars with more over body aero than a fighter jet. That sounds like the thing to me

Very good video! Flavio to Alpine. hmm... I don't know how to say this, but It seems like they try to do what other teams (more or less successfully) did with hiring Nicki Lauda, but in a way that someone could be mixing cyanide with nitro glycerin and call it a gin tonic. You know? I get where they come from and what their idea is, but they are using slightly the wrong ingredients if your goal isn't to explode in a toxic environment. But sweet lord, I'm looking forward to watch the chaos. :D

I can't really understand how the court could lift the ban just because it was told him "too late" or without enough time to bring his defense. Other people in sports, especially Snooker, get banned life time recently and also know they f*cked it up, without having tons of time to say their defense. I dislike Briatore really....
