In 2009, Chelsea were eliminated by Barcelona after a set of controversial decisions were made by the referee Tom Henning Ovrebo.
Barcelona has often been accused of getting favours from the referees, but what Chelsea fans felt on this day 11 years ago is beyond comparison and they still have the bad blood against alleged biased favours made bt referee Tom Henning Overbo.
Chelsea was stunned with it and couldn’t believe what they had faced. Meanwhile, Barcelona cruised to the finale of the Champions League against Manchester United and ultimately won the tournament.
But back in the Stamford Bridge, it sparked Didier Drogba into a furious rant in front of the TV cameras, calling it a ‘f**king disgrace.’ Michael Ballack was seen running behind Overbo making him realize his mistakes, but ultimately of no use.

I watched this match while in transit at Colorado airport waiting for a connecting flight. I'm not even a Chelsea fan but I felt it for them as it was so obvious that the referee was corrupt. Tbh the referee should go to prison for blatant match fixing

We are in front of the biggest robbery an English team has ever suffered in a UCL's semi-finals, where the referee made lots of mistakes, which allowed Barcelona to get to the final. Look like, Uefalona, and the whole mafia behind this didn't want Chelsea, and Man Utd to face each other again. What I remember most was seeing the referee runs away from Ballack, after he didn't give an Eto's's clear penalty in the last minutes, if I had been Ballack, I'd have tackled on him, while trying to chase him.

I'm obviously not a Barca, nor a Chelsea fan and in my opinion this match's reputation is far worse than how things actually played out. Poor officiating? Yes. Rigged? No.

CFC fan, but also knowledgeable football person who runs a team and played/ managed all my life. This game (ref) was a disgrace. Chelsea absolutely robbed. Thank god we got revenge in 2012

That Match was high tempo. It wasn't easy for the ref too. Although Ballack's penalty call should have been given, but co-ordinating a match of such tempo isn't always easy for refs.

I am a Real Madrid fan, the referee did harm both teams. A penalty for Barca in the first a few minutes, Essein should have been red carded too. The referee was ugly, but the outcry of Chelsea is uglier.

A lot of us knew that the mafia control football just like every organisation, but we have to understand something that if something is meant for you no force whatsoever can change that. Secondly if the football mafia want to favour a team you must have the necessary resources, quality players just like barcelona or any other big club not when you are a team like Norwich, Chesterfield, or Burnley😄😄😁(no disrespect for them) you expect to win Premier league or champions league. We should not forget that before the takeover of Chelsea by roman abromovich the club was down the table, but by the time they where playing barcelona the club was a force to reckon with, so they still could have won barca

Minuto 6.50 del vídeo, Anelka se tropieza con su propio pie y expulsan a Abidal, y Drogba tiene el récord en ese partido de desmayos, justo 7. Minuto 8.18 del vídeo expulsión personada al Chelsea. Las protestas de los bestias de Drogba y de Ballack, merecían roja. Sí, muy polémico ese arbitraje
