Playing the game at midnight would launch into 'midnight mode', that's what the midnight room with the 'see you there' clock is signifying. Midnight mode is an alternate mini gamemode. Setting the brightness to 0 makes the game launch into 'Dark Mode' - an alternate micro story, where you drive a car! The tapes are themselves also extra micro stories. Also, setting brightness to max launches you into the 'Gallery of Light', which is a trophy gallery of sorts to see monsters you've encountered and such.

Since you asked: Sewers aren't usually cleaned manually (at least where I live). Most sewers are to small to be entered by humans anyway, some are big enough though that a person can fit in. But they only check them to see if they are still intact or if there is major damage at some points. If the sewer is to small to be entered, a little car with a camera is sent in to check. If there are parts of the sewer that are damaged too badly (due to growing roots or the material just giving up for example), the sewer has to be renewed in that section and the road has to get blocked off. If the sewer has to be cleaned, a special vehicle has to be sent that has the right equipment (giant hose, the right nozzle etc.) and they just shoot tons of water at high pressure through the sewer. I witnessed that once during my apprenticeship as a sewage engineering technician and it's not done often, maybe once every 3-5 years.

I read that the other two endings were simple: 1: You need to shoot the 3 eyed purple cat, which will kill you in a unique way and 2: You need to hug the left wall in the beginning to get a pizza easter egg ending. But thats it. Its insignificant and you got the 2 most important endings

The chains in the mine are a reference for a "haunted mine" video mystery from a few years back called the "Horton Mine". In the video, the explorer goes in before the chains start rattling from the ceiling if I'm not wrong. The track that plays in the mines is called "Horton Hears a Who in The Horton Mine", too.

About the shotgun. It's written in the weapon's description that it's a salt shotgun, it shoots salt. But what does that mean exactly? There is a belief in Japan that salt banishes ghosts, therefore the shotgun is weak against living enemies but very strong against ghost enemies

Even though I kinda remember you saying that you'd rather not play longer horror games, but since others have already recommended you play Cry of Fear which is very heavily influenced by SH, I'd like to see you try Silent Hill 1 or 2 before you get around to Cry of Fear because, while alright, the latter is really just a lesser copy of SH2. That would be awesome! (since you have become one of my favorite YT content creators, showcasing a lot of indie horror game gems I'd never have heard about otherwise)
