Granular synthesis!
@quadrazard
@quadrazard Жыл бұрын
@freashty would it be granular or wavetable? I don't know much about granular, is there a difference aside from automating the wave position?
@freashty
@freashty Жыл бұрын
@@quadrazard it would be granular. Treating each snare hit as a cycle of a wave is the basis of granular synthesis, which takes momentary chops of a sound (grains) and cycles them at specific frequencies to create a perceived pitch with characteristic overtones A wave table takes several frames of different waveforms and allows you to parse through them as if you were referencing a different row of a data table There are some similarities but in general, if you're modeling cycles of the waveform using a function f(x) or a "snapshot" (frame) of the line that function "draws" it's wave table synthesis, and if you're taking a sample of audio and repeating it at Sonic frequencies, it's granular
@quadrazard

@freashty cool thanks for the info. I might have to get a granular synth to play with since I've heard how good it is for sound design

dude you and your community who took part in this are amazing. You just opened my eyes to ole' fruity loops sound design potential. What would you call the genre that you ended up with? I kinda stopped keeping updated on genres after dubstep turned into riddim, and feel quite lost in this new era of neuro? inspired beats. Mr Carmack has been my introduction into this style, and really like finding new artists with a similar sound.
