Flat Bridge is a historic landmark in Jamaica, standing for over 254 years. It is highly respected and admired in the country, but unfortunately, it has also been the site of many tragic incidents. Some individuals have intentionally driven off the bridge to end their lives, while some truck drivers have underestimated the bridge's size and ended up overturning into the water.

I remember one day coming from the country and it started raining heavily about 20 minutes before I got into the gorge. I got there just before the police decided to close the gorge. I was happy at first because I hate the detour. Five minutes in I was stressed!! The river had overflowed its banks and the traffic traveling from Kingston didn’t want to stay in their lane because of the water. When I finally got to the bridge, I could not see the guide stumps. My wife was crying and praying. I waited until I saw a glimpse of one of the stumps and held a straight line and went in faith. Obviously I made it across. To God be the Glory!

And they COMPLAIN about $500 k ticket from Police. Wat kind a DAMN FOOLFOOL DRIVE is that ??????? He sees the TRUCK backing and forthing and he goes down SANDWICHES himself between both MACHINES. I DOUBT if the 1st driver saw him . Mebbe not the 2nd one either. I kno the HUSTLE is tuff out dere , but , they have to do better. If and wen ANYTHING HAPPENS , it affects too many families. And no 1 is targeting 🚖 DRIVERS , because many are DECENT , but it jus takes 1 BAD 🍏. KMFT. SLAVERY has really crippled our MENTALITY

Real Touch, this is "REAL TOUCH" Very clear, and the video speaks a lot about the reality that these truckers face on a daily basis. We take things for granted and many of us do not realize that this is Jamaica's method of transporting produce for our sustainability and keep the country running. Excellent video and be safe while working on these projects.

@Jason Henry and as I said, it shouldn't be driving pulling load in that' condition, he is not in control of that truck, no matter how nice anyone wants to word it. Steering system is one of the most important control of a vehicle.

Flat bridge, St Catherine. The crazy thing about this bridge is that it is built over 200 years ago. And not much has been done to it since.

I was 20 years old when I traveled from Yallahs ST Thomas to Linstead ST Catherine, now I’m 77 years old now , you mean to tell me that the Jamaica Government cannot fixed this bridge? It’s a dam shame, lots of people lost their lives going over this bridge in to the River,

Went to Kingston for the first time when i reach Flat Bridge I panicked i was lucky to have my son with me he doesn't have a license but can drive so he took my SUV and drove It across the bridge i was thankful

I don't get what all the fear is about? It's a narrow bridge but they have a stop light and it looks like and only one truck at a time goes over the bridge so plenty of room. I would be more worried about how much weight the bridge can take. Cool video tho.
