This is the village of Atuler, known as the Cliff Village of China.
If you didn't see it with your own eyes.
You would never think.
There is such a creepy village in China.
Because it is located in the middle of a mountain pass at an altitude of 1,600 meters.
The village is directly under a cliff on three sides.
The river is soaring.
The houses look like they could fall from the sky at any moment.
There is no protection around it.
No wonder people gave it the nickname City in the Sky.
The only way in or out is this 2,556-step staircase that rattles almost to the wall.
The drop of the cliff is 800 meters.
The equivalent of a 250-story climb back to the village.

These cliff villagers were already moved to the newly constructed residential areas by the Chinese government during the national anti-poverty campaign few years ago!!

Плоские вершины гор с отвесными склонами это естественные крепости где всегда было безопасно от любых войн. Но при непогоде почти невозможно подняться или спуститься, нужна канатная дорога.

Люди прятались от войны. Некоторые привыкли и остались там жить. Это сейчас там новая железная лестница, раньше она была деревянная и не на всем протяжении. Деревня называется Арулет. Сейчас власти Китая расселяют жителей этой деревни в более удобные места.

Wooden shelves as well as rattan，They're clinging to the wall. There are some remnants of wood frames and canes underneath the newly constructed steel pipes right now

Reading all these applauding notes below, I don't understand why they should be praised? For me, this is complete non-sense and stupidity! What these people need is their government's consideration, concern and most certainly their HELP! Why have they chosen a dreadful and extremely hard place to go to live their life? No matter how hard it can be to get a place to live in the dense population of China, but they could have other alternative options to manage and share the expenses between family members instead of going all these kilometers in a such harsh cold region, climbing all these uneven steps on foot without any facilities like handrail at some places. I wish your situations change for the best. I pray God give you the most earliest life through His Grace and Mercy. May God bless you all.

Well ,these people do not need to go to the GYM, they are in good shape, healthy living , this is great. Even older people can get more years in their lives. Good for them.They learn the hard work from birth, not like we who live in the city, who do not even want to get out of bed in the morning, till our perent wake us up, with breakfast ready.

There must be a real original reason for people like them to live this way. There is indeed a high possibility that years ago when they live on flat land they were attacked constantly by bandits and soldiers. Now which bandit group or soldiers would even bother attacking or harassing people who lived so high up? Many would lose their lives before even reaching them. Plus living in a mountain pass they must have been murdered and killed numerous times in the past.

Borbom osvaajaju život.To im je jedina zarada.Negde sam pročitala da Kinezi nemaju penzija.Za nas je to strašno.Onda i ne čudi što su razvili sistem gajenja povrća na malom prostoru i u dvorištu, na betonu.Oni od svega umeju da naprave nešto i zato će uvek opstajati,a mi od svega umemo da napravimo odmor..Zaključak je da treba sa njima da se družimo,da se oni malo odmore i razvesele,a mi nešto da radnemo i naučimo.
