I worked at a photo lab in highschool. The liquid waste had dissolved silver in it. It was toxic, but worth money. Once the silver was extracted. But, if you dipped a penny in it, the penny was instantly coated in silver. I look back an wish I did not play with the stuff, but it was fun.

@@sheastewart7608 the stuff was toxic, not sure. That 1 hour photo process has probably been eliminated from digital prints. Etc. this was late 90s. Whatever it was only required a dip, no current, it was instant too.

@@Quickcat21MK Bit of a rhetorical question. Im fairly certain thats what it was. Basically, you had dissolved silver ions, and when in contact with the metallic copper they strip electrons from it because silver wants to be reduced more than copper. So the copper dissolves and the silver precipitates.
