And a lot of them turn out like this. I don’t think anyone is making excuses for their horrific crime, just pointing out how trauma through childhood could alter and derail them in life. Drugs to self medicate etc. look at Charles Manson. His mother was a prostitute and exposed him, as a young boy, to all these men, one of which raped him. She offered to trade him for a pitcher of beer to a waitress who mentioned what a cute little boy he was. She did this in front of him. The waitress called child services and he was taken to foster care. Didn’t know who his bio father was and passed around to multiple family members. Went to visit his mom in prison and she told him she never wanted him. You don’t think that twisted his young psyche? It’s not an excuse but a possible reason for his dangerous and murderous actions. There is a difference. People want to know how these sociopaths became that way. Psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made from their environment.

The variety of nonsensical photos used to illustrate each story is ridiculous. Most are photos, videos, or movie scenes that have nothing to do the cases. Those showing Jodi Arias, Reese Witherspoon and other well-known characters especially don't fit into the stories.

Kerry Lynn Dalton committed the murder in 1988 but wasn't sentenced until 1995. I thought that was a long time between crime and conviction-7 yrs? Anyway, there is a moratorium for the DP in California since that started in 2019. She probably would have been executed by now in many states.

I have law enforcement in my immediate family, and I am also severely mentally ill. I'm not going to kill someone. Poor mental health can potentially be a mitigating factor, but then again it doesn't rob you of your ability to make choices. It makes making choices harder, but it can be done. My heart goes out to the victim's families.

"...dehumanizes and vilifies those on death row..." Stop with the editorializing. People on death row are only on death row because of the crime for which they were convicted. By the time they get to that point, they have committed dozens and dozens of crimes for which they didn't get caught.

The border control story, yes people arrive illegally. To escape a country that has no opportunities for work, poverty, outspread fear of the Cartel. They don’t deserve harsh treatment period. Understanding and kindness is what they need. I can’t believe that the USA even allow people to be involved in protecting their borders. Look at what it led to. In Australia you would never see an ordinary citizen protecting our borders. Only trained individuals can.

I am upset at even this posting. I am tired of the manipulation of facts and images to do nothing but invoke emotions versus spread the truth.
