Regarding your discussion about saving your ult in the early game, you have to consider how different the enemy is playing simply because you have not ulted yet and you are level 6, the threat of Shen ult is making the enemy play around it, similar to the way Blitzcrank Q works in lane

yes especially with blitz hook, example of this is a game where i blind shot my hook into a bush but no one saw so i just made aggressive movements towards the low 2 enemy team members, flashed in and got 2 flashes to go off

@@simodegre This is my experience as a top laner in low elo when I play into Shen. Game starts and I type to team: Shen is in this game, remember that any fight is one he can join. I ping he's 6 when he gets ult, shortly after that they fight and lose.

@@webignar In addition, adc escaped with flash from my w skill while he was fighting with basic attack champion. Maybe, teammates and rival calculate yout ulti but, they never consider shen w even if you are diamond😅

watching Petu and thinking Shen is broken while in reality his decision making is top tier. idk how many times he was mid fight and stopped at the right moment to save Jhin, the way he uses abilities in lane and runes/item awareness is mindblowing. keep it up Petu

You are the reason why I love this champion so much, every Shen main I play against, I can instantly see if he watches your videos or not. Most are just a regular tank Shen player. Shen is so full of potential and you never disappoint to show it. Trying this new build in the next games and climbed from gold last season to emerald already this season with your knowledge. You probably already tested this but frozen heart, because of the way it works, will proc unending despair despite not being in active combat. Meaning in short trades, so long as you are within frozen heart range, you will heal and poke.

I tried building this with Sion, Darius and Maokai. It works but the issue is most often than not after getting despair and frozen heart laning phase is over.

Unending despair also counts as spell damage and triggers spell effects. This is good for tank supports for example

i run a similar build for fun with friends in flex or norms but on Vi. Eclipse + Fimbulwinter core with shield bash and ingenious hunter in runes. with your passive its non stop perma shield and tons of fun. idk why i never thought of adding the healing items to it… guess i was too busy building locket and steraks for more shields. thanks for cooking petu, even though i dont play really shen too much i love your channel

What a game! I wish I could play Shen half as well as you do. There is so much patience, gamesense and understanding of the champion being displayed here. I would say you are Shen irl, but unlike him you are not afraid to break out the forbidden technology.

I'm so glad that Shen can finally scale I always felt like, in recent seasons, Shen would be strong early but fell off a cliff by 30 mins. I love these longer games in difficult matchups, it really shows how much you understand the champion and the game. I hope your recovery and PT are going well also grats on the penta from last vid!

The build even gets an indirect buff in patch 14.3 because Sundered Sky loses 10 AD (55->45) but gains 150 HP (300->450). Not only do you indirectly heal yourself more because the passive from Sundered Sky heals with missing health and you will have more max HP in the future, but you don't benefit much from the AD anyway. In addition, the passive, E, R, Unending Despair and Titanic are scaling with Max HP, which also benefits from the Sundered Sky change. Very hyped for Shen in patch 14.3 with this build :)

great and educational video as always! what your thougts on heartsteel into hydra or hydra into heratsteal? is just to much hp and not enuff armor/mr to be worth it? item haste should reduce the heartsteal also to about 20 sec cd

Long time fan Petu, I took like 6 month break from league, first game back I played Shen top with this build and went 20/1, my ADC left but I was able to hard carry with 2x damage of anyone else. SHEN IS BACK

nice to have Shen with power again. That first Q flash dive at the start- was there a way out in hindsight? like avoiding Q entirely with flash and taunting darius back to tower range and kiting without attacking? I know it's easier said than done, just for future reference

been running Ingenious Hunter and Heartsteel first for teh past few games even though it delays waveclear it is super broken! Im running around with 1k Stacks regularly. And even afterwards Titanic and sunfire also strongly benefit from the additional health!

Ingenious hunter seems insanely good now, so many items benefit from it. Sundered sky, eclipse, sterak, titanic, zhonya, protobelt, stormsurge and more probably.

My guy is a Saiyan, he got injured and came back stronger! I've been using Ingenious with SS and Unending despair since slogdog, a Yorick main, tested that out, idk his final opinion on that, but against low elo as I'm playing I've been having really good games with that setup, I might finally scape gold lmao. I did think about this with Shen but I didn't feel confident

You can do the same on a mana champ whit a low cooldown cc, add Fimbulwinter, Eclipse, and Spirit visage to complete the build, and totally stop loosing health in 1v1 and 2v1 duels

Since the healing from unending despair is based on damage done, would sudden impact be more optimal as the magic pen would increase the healing? Or is cheap shot better since it gives you a stronger laning phase
