These have been the most difficult cinematic self-portraits I've ever taken by far! In this video, I experiment with cinematic lighting in a swimming pool and in the shower... 😅 And I LOVE the results! Well... From the beginning of the video, Photo #8 with blue background and you looking toward the light is great mood shot. Also, #6 the side profile looking to the left and a little off center. It is a amazing photo as well. I love your artistry!!!

My favorite pic from this set is the one with your eyes closed with the blue background. Probably #5 or #6. That being said, I’m wondering why this kind of picture (Fashion? Portrait?) is always so serious. No smiling for some reason from a woman who has the most beautiful, amazing smile I think I’ve ever seen on a human being. 😊 Practically all of your instructional videos have you with that fabulous, engaging smile. this was awesome! Stunning images trust me. I understand there’s so much work that go into self portrait that people don’t see. I did a few self portraits last year the video was out of focus so I couldn’t use it overall my images came out great and I have a lot of fun.

Hi Laura. I’m wondering what your experience with the batteries for the RGB lights has been. Quite a lot of reviews of this equipment praise the Zhiyun lights while they hate the batteries because they seem to fail regularly. My photo equipment merchant is B&H Photo in NYC, where I read the negative battery reviews. Thanks for another great informative video! Big love! ❤️ ~ Robi, Colorado, USA

@@LauraBC Hello Laura, I have been taking mostly photos with a canon T6 for a number of years. I’m basically an amateur photographer. This past Spring of 2023, I bought my Canon R10 because I primarily take photos of my son’s baseball games. And so I needed higher frame rates to capture action shots. I have been also taking nature photos of and on. It’s not easy. But thank you for replying to my text.

You can use voice cntrol and program your iphone to trigger your camera =)

Do you set a fixed focus area on your camera rather than dynamic focus? I have noticed that with timed self portraits I have to use the phone to set a focus point and I was wondering how you did it, being in the water ☺️

Continuous focus. It tracks my face constantly. The Sony A7RV is great for it!

SO its a long lens mounted to the edge of the pool. I would have put the tripod in water. Carbon Fiber FTW.

To be able to put a tripod in the water, the tripod must go higher than 2m as it’s a deep pool. You can get the exact same result putting the camera on the floor on the edge of the swimming pool, why risking over £6K of gear having it almost touching the water? 😅

@@LauraBC Oh it's really deep. That's greater than any tripod I know. I've seen others use a fish tank but they also needed an assistant to hold the camera. You're right that pool shot is very technical.
