This was a really cool demo, and I surely need to try this. Lately I have been messing with the built in Logic Bass Amp modeler, and finding crazy awesome bass tones, but I will try throwing a guitar amp on it next. I know Ola England uses the Archetype Plini plugin for awesome bass tones in a similar manner too.

Finally a mix where the bass is the star. Yeehaaww!!! However, I wonder how loud it will be in the final mix. Which brings me to the question, on how do you decide how to balance and arrange a mix. Because obviously Guitars are usually prime in modern Mixes, but if you listen to older stuff, you can hear, that the Bass (or sometimes even Keys/Strings) are way more upfront and give a Song a whole differnt vibe\ atmosphere, then you could achieve with Guitars.

The secret bass amp for brutal tones in AmpliTube is the orange thunderverb. Give that a try 👍 But the real king of recorded bass tone is softube amp room. So easy to split bass frequencies several different ways so you can mix di and amp signals very easily and send them to a variety of cabs and EQ/compress them all in the same plug in. The Lemmy is the obvious choice here, but the jmp, Kerry King, jubilee, Plexi (among others) all sound sick as hell for distorting bass. The stock hiwatt and Ampeg amps are great, too.
