Why is everyone playing Staal as the victim? He didn't try in Buffalo and then everyone is happy for him to be somewhere else like he isn't an entitled punk 😂 O'Reilly, Lehner, Staal all bitch about Buffalo but did absolutely doing nothing to help themselves. O'Reilly stopped his after practice practices and starts playing worse, does nothing to work harder and complains he lost his love for the game. Lehner was drinking a case of beer a day and taking sleeping pills, then Staal floats around for 30 something games and that somehow earns him the right to be traded to a playoff team? Talk about entitled whiners and everyone calls these guys "pros"? From a Sabres fans persepctive, these players come in and don't give 100% of their effort and then complain their way out and everyone then sits there and shits on Buffalo. We made moves to get better but when the two players you acquire in the offseaso already have their minds made up about moving on, how the fuck is our team ever supposed to get better? It's so annoying as a fan

It's like Halo music, man. If you sunk a lot of time into a game, all those good times sink into your memory through music. Normally, scent is what our brains remember about the past the most, but since you can't smell what's in the game world, your brain defaults to sound. That's why it hits so hard; all that brainpower that would have been used to remember scents is used to remember the sounds; the music. Even if the game hasn't aged well and you don't have fun playing it, the music will always be good.

To be fair, Ken Danyeko was a great defenseman. He was very hard to get by, and New Jersey's play style was very tough and defensive. Plus, that was the 'trap era' where scoring was very very low, especially 98-99 to 03-04. & to be fair, 7 goals when a few were fluke goals isn't that bad for a 19 year old off the street. I don't care if youre an AHL or college player, you can't jump into the league with no training and expect to save many shots.

I found an example. They just ignore it completely. There is no shot on goal. In this example, the Wild had 36 SOGs while Subban had only 35 shots against him. 5 goals were scored but his result was 31-35, which means that an SOG is missing. I don't know if that's because it seems likely there was an empty net indicated by the TOI for Subban... but I don't think it's like for there to be a SOG and not get a goal when have an EN. There was no EN goal, but maybe someone saved a SOG? But likely I just think that they ignored the own goal for save %. But dang Staal had a 200% goals per shot (2 goals / 1 SOG). Example: www.nhl.com/gamecenter/vgk-vs-min/2018/02/02/2017020791#game=2017020791,game_state=final,game_tab=stats

Hang on tho... I'm counting 3 shots on Niemi, not including the own goal shot. Prior to the own goal, there was a shot that hit him in the shoulder (1), and then the rebound was shot towards the net but didn't get there as it hit players in front (so no SOG), then it was shoveled into the goal by the D (also no SOG). Then each of the other two goals were shot by opposing players and got through Niemi (2) or beat him high blocker side (3). I'm thinking the scorers just didn't count it correctly at that point. If I'm wrong, which of those didn't count as a SOG?

I tried going bardown and failed horribly costing us the game after my teamates told me to go five hole which was wide open. Then the team hosting the tournament left and so we had to fill their spot in the final after playing 2 back to back games. We lost 7-2. Bruins fan here! I love it that Bruins have record for most Shorty's in a single penalty kill!! I remember watching the game when it happened and it was fucking awesome to watch!!! It was incredible! 3 shorty's on 1 penalty kill is just an absolutely incredible record and I'm pretty confident in saying that there's probably an extremely good chance that it's one record that may never be broken! It's a pretty crazy record..especially since it was done in the current NHL where the players r all incredibly good and goalies r crazy good! Also the goalies now r better protected and have bigger pads buy r also incredibly athletic and insanely flexible! It's definitely harder to score in the NHL than it was back in the 50's,60's,70's,& 80's and maybe even a Lil of the 90's when goalies pads were smaller...and when u go far enough back they had to stay standing..they weren't allowed to drop to their knees! So it's pretty amazing that 3 shortys on same penalty kill had never happened b4..especially a long time ago when it was easier to score goals! That just shows how hard and amazing it is that the Bruins were able to do it and the fact that they did it recently in the current NHL just makes it that much more of an incredible achievement!!

Common hockey rule is that any time there is a goal awarded that is not a shot taken by a player, a shot on goal accompanies the goal to avoid having more goals than shots in the stats. This is because if a player takes a shot on his own goalie, that shot is not counted. There are several situations that goals are awarded in the game without a physical shot ever taken on goal. One example is throwing a stick at the puck carrier when the goalie is pulled (in the dz) which would normally result in a penalty shot. A goal is awarded automatically. So I don't buy the 3 goals on 2 shots.. it's just the guy in the truck making a mistake with the graphics.

one time my goalie for my team went out of net forgetting that the puck was right behind him then someone put in the net cause the goalie went out of his crease so the puck didn't pass the line so then we got a new starter but someone scored it when was in the crease but he didn't go in the crease

Imagine Hossa losing his 3rd Stanley Cup finals in a row now as a Blackhawk losing to his former Thrashers. Haha. Would've been the ultimate hat trick of losing to teams that traded him. LOL

Perry just beat Hossa on the worst scenarios... 3 years in a row on 3 different teams... Dallas... Montreal... Tampa... 3 Stanley Cup finals... 3 losses! Ouch! At least he already won it when he was with the Ducks... But that must hurt a lot! If I was him after a 3rd final loss... I'll go to depression on 100%!!!

Oh wow. Must be a time machine was built. I get to play in the NHL and get served badly in my first game. Anyway, gotta love the Caps from 74 to 82/83. So much so Poulin (owner at the time) was considering to move the franchise out of the DC area. Hence "Save the Caps" was on display. If I'm not mistaken then in the 83 or 84 draft they got this youngster named Scott Stevens. Many of you may know of him too. Just not in Washington (or St Louis).

Idk if it’s embarrassing or not but that time Ottawa lost in the conference finals against the penguins in game 7 double overtime. It was truly tragic.

Not sure it's fair to have Eichel's face on Buffalo's losing streak. Not that I'm convinced anything would've been different had he been in the lineup.

Niemi made a save on the first goal and there was no weirdness about the other two goals. To me the only way 3 goals on 2 shots makes sense, is if they counted the own goal as a negative shot taking away the save he made
