true sas selection sends you over about 100 km over a week, stopping at several checkpoints and the weight increasing each time. And you get 0 feed back. And you have no companion. C/O Simon Mann exSAS

This where I live. Every year we have locals who run and scramble up these hills with kit and carry folk out on stretchers in horrific conditions. They’d eat those contestants for breakfast. The true SAS/SBS and even P Company courses are far more difficult than this show could ever be. It’s good for entertainment on tv but don’t kid yourself that it’s like the true courses that genuinely brave blokes endure…..that’s why we have such a great SF availability in this country.

Love this show, always have from the start. But I’m hating the for camera parts that are so prominent now. It’s turning into an American type of show. Where interviews and moments with the participants have 5 different angles that are clearly shot at different times but are supposed to be in the moment. Comes across cringey.

Ant quit the show recently for reasons like this - he said the directors were trying to televise the show, taking alot of the control away from him and wanted to do stuff like allowing viewers to vote contestants off the show. Don't think I'll be watching now he's gone lol

This is so unrealistic. Why would any army risk their human resources by making them carry ridiculous weights when there are better ways to move things (wheeled carts, trucks etc.)

Unrealistic? What if a truck gets its driver or tyres shot, or hits a rock and breaks the transmission. You need to be able to do anything,in any situation...
